HEADLINE: West Indies batsmen surrender home advantage

CaribbeanCricket.com 2019-09-03 23:37:57

The West Indies were left to rue their decision-making both on and off the field, as the opportunity to pick up points at home in their first battle of the ICC World Test Championships went abegging in a 2-0 series defeat to India. To say WINDIES batsmen were found wanting (again), would be an understatement. We could list all the cringe-worthy statistics, saying that “we need a new batting line-up”, “enough is enough” and “none of them deserve to wear the shirt”. Still, how realistic is it that the West Indies should name their next Test team with four or five new batsmen? Yes, changes should be made, but could we possibly look to replace the out of sorts Brathwaite, the unacquainted Hetmyer, the barren Hope and the unsettled Campbell all at once? Nope. And this is where the patience of the fans—in understanding the long haul—comes into play.

There it lies, our failure to perform. Some players get too many free passes because they are from the so-called bigger islands. Not until we treat failure to perform with the same measuring stick regardless of the origin of the player, our ratings will forever be poor.

The stark fact is that the WICBC & Our
Players had absolutely nothing to surrender . The WICBC surrendered West
Indies Cricket years ago , when it failed to establish a Regional Cricket
Leaguse years ago when Our Players dominated International Cricket .

At that juncture they would have had
Financial Sponsors breaking down the
doors of the WICBC to have their brands allied with Our Team & Players.

I remain convinced that the change of the International Tour Schedule &
England limiting the number of Overseas Players playing Cricket in
England was designed to ensure that
over time our dominance in Internation Cricket would come to an end .

That is precisely what happened , however instead of blaming the WICBC for its Incompetence , the Frauds in the Region who claim to be Sports Journalists never ever state this
freaking Fact . They prefer instead to place all the blame on Our Players .

POINT 2019-09-04 21:59:47

I am awaiting the responses from the Defenders of the Worst International
Cricket Board in the Commonwealth .

I simply want them to attempt trying to
factually prove that what I have stated
above is a Figment of my Imagination .

MORE THAN 100 FREAKING YEARS IN THE

GOVERNANCE OF WEST INDIES CRICKET

WITH THE SAME BLASTED STRUCTURE .

Yet the WICBC & its Sycophants in the
Media are fully satisfied that the
WICBC is a model Cricket Board .

THEY WANT TO GET GOVERNMENTS MONEY

WITHOUT MAKING ANY BLASTED CHANGES TO

ITS ARCHAIC STRUCTURE .

I am absolutely sure that unless the
WICBC stops its Plantation Mentality
Syndrome , and have Former Players &
Current Players on the Board , West
Indies Cricket is doomed in the International Cricket Arena .

There also must be Former Players and
current Players on ALL Cricket Boards
in the Region .

ALL COACHES MUST BE FROM THE REGION

THEY AT LEAST WOULD HAVE SOME

AFFINITY TO OUR PLAYERS .

In my opinion unless the above stipulations are in Black & White , and accepted by the WICBC & the Regional Cricket Boards ; The Governments in the Region must not give the WICBC any Money .

To do that would be a total waste of
Taxpayers Money . Opposition Parties
in the Region would relish using this
cudgel against Governments who decide
to give the WICBC & The Regional Cricket Boards Taxpayers Money .

West Indies needs to approach cricket like baseball is approached in the United States.

They need:
1. A Head Coach (A leader who is smart and knows how to manage and get along with people)
2. A fast bowling coach
3. A spin bowling coach
4. A batting coach
5. A fielding
These should be exceptional, former West Indies players who knew and practiced their craft with high degrees of professionalism and competence. They should display abilities to communicate and impart.

We need to train school coaches how to coach youngsters.
We need to identify and start coaching youngsters from the primary school up.
These youngsters should be coached the fundamentals of batting, bowling (fast/spin), fielding, wicketkeeping.

Some may say we have coaching taking place already. I say not with any seriousness. We need to get serious or get out of the game. We can't continue to be laughing stock of the cricketing world.
Until we decide to spend the money and approach this sport with seriousness, we will forever be at the bottom of the table among test playing countries.

And don't tell me you don't have the money to do it. You don't have the money because the product you are currently selling is substandard. Nobody wants to buy it, hence the empty stadiums. I'm sure when you improve the product the buyers will come. Then we will have jammed stadiums around the Caribbean like back in the old, glorious days.

Of course, I know I'm only dreaming. This makes too much sense for our "cricket administrators" to take up. I will not hold my breath.
