People used to pay big buck for them (myself included) but now they are gone.
It's interesting, only brands like Levi Strauss, Lee jeans and Wrangler that have been around long before the brand name craze are still doing well today.
If you've been in the U.S. since the 80s, what was your favorite brand?

Levis all the way..
In reply to bravos
I love levis today but back then I would have chosen Jordache or Sassoon.

In reply to black
Remember the jingle "Ahh, lalloo, Sassoon", as featured in the Sassoon Jeans commercials?
My former co-worker, Manuel Ytuarte (and still my brethren), got credit for "writing" it.
I still wear Wrangler today. Just bought two new pairs (carpenter style) last Friday.
In reply to Drapsey
Ooh la la Sassoon
In reply to doosra
Never owned a pair.
In reply to black
You don't have to be so exact.
In reply to black
I got over Jordache early. It was Levis or nothing in the UK as a teen..the girls loved Levis...
In reply to doosra

In reply to bravos
Levis have withstood the test of time, they have been around for eons.
In reply to black
Levis.
My favourite these days are Express.
In reply to nitro
They are too plain to be paying that much money for.
By the way, this is the first time I've heard of them.
In reply to Drapsey
I own one pair of wrangler, most of my jeans are levis.
In reply to black

In reply to Darkness
True, but if I pay that much, I'll have to take them with me.
In reply to black
Depends on what you like..some like cars i like what. I consider cool fashion
Whatever floats my boat
In reply to black
Well, I had a pair of Levi since Guyana so....
But, Wasnt Sassoon a womens only brand!
That looks like a 1300 gt dallas from China
I don't think Sassoon was a women's only brand, now you got me thinking...
I do remember there was some sort of controversy with the rights to the name.
I think Gloria Vanderbilt was women only but I could be wrong.
In reply to StumpCam
New York Rangers in Sassoon
In reply to doosra
To each his own.
In reply to doosra
Best Chinese jeans ever!
BTW anything that goes on or in my body is not made in China.
Bugle Boy.."are those Bugle Boy jeans"?
In reply to maj
Bugle boys are not that expensive.
The name is right there in the picture.
I have a pair of Lee jeans, don't know the brand names of my others.
What brand was Marla Maples a model for? Jordache?
I'm a bit old-school, I like my jeans simple, all these fancy styles of jeans are too perplexing.
In reply to Tryangle
What brand was Marla Maples a model for? Jordache?
You'll have to ask the P-grabber.
In reply to black
Did you rock the 2 tone jeans (different color front and back) as well??
In reply to StumpCam
No, I like simple jeans, was never into acid wash and all that other stuff.
In reply to black
Same here!
i wear only true religion that are on 1/2 price or more sale
In reply to sudden
What's so special about them?
In reply to sudden
My wife's little cousin begged everybody near and far to buy him some True Religion jeans.
I think he's still begging.
i like the strong bold stitching and the general quality but not the price so i only buy what on 1/2 price
In reply to black
What's so special about them? (to Sudden)
With his girth, it's the only manufacturer that make such XXXXL sizes. No one buys them so he gets them at half price.
In reply to sgtdjones
In reply to sudden

In reply to RedDuppy
My allegiance to Wrangler is well rooted.
Back in the day growing up in the hills of Eastern Hanover, Jamaica, we couldn't wait for the Farm Workers to return from 'merica clad in dem Wrangler dungarees, oversized buckle belts, and cowboy hats.
Oh, how we wanted to grow up fast so that we could emulate.
In reply to Drapsey
I knew there were some Jamaican farm workers in the U.S. but I didn't know it was to that extent.
Levi Street brights.
Lee stonewashed
Bugle boy
Edwin
In reply to black
Great back then.
They would go away for about 6 months. On their return they were the proverbial Kings.
We would just gather around them and intently listen to their stories (yarns). Some day!
Ok, some of them didn't bother to return.
In reply to Drapsey
In reply to Drapsey
What about Karl Kani, since you like bold designs?
Did you wear them back then?
In reply to black
karl kani suits?
the cream was a big hit
In reply to doosra
Cream suits by Kani?
In reply to black
No, not me.
I usually don't wear anything that has someone's name on it. After all, I'm the one who paid for it. The wrangler jeans are worn for sentimental reasons.
I have a story here...
Back in the 80s I treated myself to a pair of Pierre Cardin socks.
As if it weren't bad enough when one co-worker asked why I was wearing Pierre's socks and not my own, another one asked why I had graffiti on my socks. That did it.
In reply to Drapsey
In reply to black
a baggy jeans and a big hard top
a 90s version of this
In reply to Drapsey
suh yuh only wear
In reply to doosra
Dat look like a flag.
In reply to doosra
That's more like my grand daughters' style. Colorful.
Mine are hiking-boots. The kind you buy on sale at BJs or Sam's Club.
Another story...
The other day on the street someone asked me for 'some change'. At first look he appeared to be in need, so I was tempted to give him my last $5.00 bill.
But then I took a look at his footwear which appeared to be a $150.00 pair of Nike's. I kept my 5 dollars.
In reply to Drapsey
the person probably saved for it over a long period
In reply to doosra and Drapsey
That reminds me of these guys.
In reply to doosra
He has his priorities all wrong I think.
In reply to black

Dickies is an interesting brand, they are known mostly for work clothes but enjoyed some success with casual wearers in the 80s and 90s.
All you Canadians shopped at Bargain Harolds and Honest Ed".
In reply to Dan_De_Lyan
Honest Ed related to Crazy Ed?
In reply to black
I don't think so....Ed fed off the immigrants in TO. Good price because of the original dollar store concept.
Biway was another.
In reply to Dan_De_Lyan
Crazy Eddie
