It will be,

I hope they give him the tools starting with Omar Khan as manager. He is the region's most experienced manager he knows how to manage the youths and veterans alike.

Would be nice to see Walsh work with the fast bowlers and Lara as batting consultant

Dessie just made that easier for Phil and himself. He will be the batting coach. Go asked Jason. His weight in this means a lot. smile

There are many qualified managers in the region

Personally, I would like to see Crandon, Roddy Estwick and Dessie in the setup

Baje 2019-10-14 19:18:15

Simmons did fire Ambrose and replace him with Estwick.

Perennial bridesmaid manager? wink

But yes Omar is a boss.

I just hope there are no recycles.
It seems to me the same technical support staff has been around for years and not getting the job done

The men’s teams squads will be announced in a press conference at 11 a.m. at Queens Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad on Tuesday, November 16.

Estwick has done quite well during his stint with the bowling attack IMO so I’d like to see some continuity there.

I’ve heard good things about Crandon and I’d like to see Dessie involved in some capacity with the coaching staff

The manager plays a more important role than just booking flights and accommodations. Khan has been around a long time and has been with successful teams in the region. There are others in the region who are also capable managers.

Nutritionist, team doctor, physio, data analyst, psychologist are all also key support staff that need to gel and be in sync

Crandon and Walsh must come eeeen

Yuh mean Walsh. I see Skeerit wants to restart the HPC which is a great idea. I don't know why that fool stopped it anyway. I would like to see Haynes and greenidge running it. They were the most technically correct of our players in the 80s and most of our batsmen come into international cricket with technical faults. This should be the place to fix them

Roddy Estwick is a boss, would love to see him retained as bowling coach. In saying that, we have quite a few outstanding bowling coach around now. Drakes & Collymore also good ones. Someone will feel hard done in that department.

I've heard a lot of folks talk about Desmond Haynes was a great help with their batting so I think would be good if he can land a batting coach spot.

Clearly, West Indies analyst need removing. Man, I've heard stories that players asked the analyst for videos of the opposition, and the analyst told the guy to go look on youtube. Like WTF???

Omar and Colin Borde.
When they were in charge of TT cricket we were a great unit. Since they both got ousted by Bassarath our cricket has gone downhill.
If they both get in I will have confidence our team will climb the ladder within the next year.
That is if the selectors are not biased against Phil.

I'd like to see:-

Assistant - Crandon
Batting - Haynes
Bowling - Estwick & Mustaq
Fielding - Shiv? Logie? Griffith?

If the HPC is reopened then hopefully get the head coaches of the Regional sides involved.

You really think that Dessie will accept Batting coach
under Phil.

Why wouldn’t he?

What would he have to lose?

If Dessie was coach of another international team, I could see why he might be reluctant. But as it is, he has zero international experience, he hasn’t been head coach of any regional national team. So why would he turn that down if offered?

Dessie at this time in his life, should Head of the Centre of Excellence, and work with BCA young batsman.
If Dessie wanted to be a HC, he should had worked his way up the ladder.
I wrote about this when I first heard about him wanting the coaching job.
There are differences between playing the game and being a coach.
I still think Skirrett and his green eye monster, wasted a lot of people's time.
