I guess you ehh fully understand yet...this is fundamental...these people DO NOT severly punish their own...
Granted he was only in the force for a year, resigned instead of retreating into the colors and is not cooperating....but he'll still get a light punnishment...

There was a weapon in the House, as verified by her nephew. The second officer at the scene said he did not see a weapon.
It does not matter, the cops still didn't follow procedures.

a weapon in the house? Thats Texas it is damn near illegal NOT to have a weapon in your house --- owning a gun in Texas is a birthright.
It is amazing the trash some of these Police Stations employ to be Cops, through his reckless stupidity he destroyed a young lady's life and his own.
