Wow.
Both seem very logical moves.
Big loss for the US mind you, but congrats to Walsh on the call-up.

In reply to sudden
Nurse gone too
whither O'shane
In reply to Bestian
yeah - to be expected
In reply to positiveg
Dont get why a Johnson Charles is not given a chance in T20 again. Man performed in CPL.
Charles over Hetmeyer any day!
No complaints. Ramdin is a surprise tho
Bravo and Gabriel big surprise drops from the test team.
In reply to WIForever
honest don't know why Charles isn't either. He's done well and is doing well.
He's a lil like th unsung hero cause he's done have two T20 WC's and a CPl championship under his belt, contributes.
Might play a brainless shot here and there but see that a lot in T20 cricket.
Test looks like the weakest team

AL JO
In reply to imusic
I was expecting Charles and Pooran to be the T20 keepers.
I would have included Hemraj for tests and ODI
insane to drop angel
hes in the top 20 test bowlers and a proven match winner
Why not King in the test squad for either Braithwaite or Campbell? I know it was a T20 competition but the guy seems to have the goods for the longer format. He played some proper cricket shots.
In reply to conman
TBH I find in his last few games Gabriel has not looked good ditto on Bravo
I think there can be no real complaints that they were both dropped
is anyone aware of any injury to Gabriel? Can't see why he would be dropped from the test squad.
In reply to Stilbatn
of course. forgot him. should not be in all formats. maybe tests and T20s or ODIs?
In reply to conman
He didnt have a good series against India at home
He had a very ooor stint in England with his county
No issue with him having to wheel and come again.

No Trini in the test team
fix that Simmo
What surprises me both is seeing Ambris back in the ODI and Tests squad after not given a central contract.
I guess might of been something he did and he shaped up or whatever the reason was.
I hope he can continue to grow though. Cause he didn't do too bad vs Ireland prior to the WC.
Good to see the selectors took the CPL seriously say both Walsh and King performance with ball and bat respectively and included both in the T20's
In reply to positiveg
Warrican continues to be the mystery man
not giving Ambris a contract was pure madness
In reply to doosra
Naw we not complain about no Trini in Test team.
We go just watch from the sidelines.
Go hetty Go
Ramdin is back!
In reply to doosra
You think Warrican migth be like ' Nurse'?
Weak test team
In reply to ray
I agree Jason have to come real good, bat and bowl like a star, it will not look good if we win the ODI and T20 and lose the test
In reply to pariaman
Or it would not be good if we win the test and lost the 1d and T20Is,
What you sayJason is a much skipper than Pouty.
In reply to doosra
Browne pick that team .
In reply to tc1
Tru but the test team looks weak and I really think they might have a harder time
Apparently Gabriel is injured and Aljo came in for him. According to cricinfo
In reply to pariaman
The majority of the incumbent test team (barring Bravo..dropped....and Gabriel....apparently injured) has been given the opportunity to stake their claim with the new coach. Again....I have no issue with that.
Bravo has failed in every format:
Test....other than his 200 plus ball 50 against aengland
ODI....in the run up to and every innings he had during the World Cup
T20......poor season with TKR
He obviously needs a lot more work
Ramdhin selection is a shocker!
In reply to imusic
4 day FC competition, best way for him to get it together.
In reply to StumpCam
Well...the robust Bramble sat on the Warrior bench for the entire just concluded competition.
In reply to conman
He's injured not dropped.
Bravo must be injured. An organisation cyah give a player an all formats contract and a few months later he cyah mek a team in any of de formats
In reply to Maispwi
he's desperately out of form. needs some first class cricket under his belt
In reply to positiveg
who these teams playing btw?
In reply to Jumpstart
So how or why was he awarded an all format contract?
In reply to Maispwi
IDK....Bravo is a class player, probably the only class batsman in the WI today......he's shown that on numerous occasions. but he's out of form. the all format contract means he is still very much part of their plans. Picking him at this stage however, will only exacerbate the damage done by the cameron affair
In reply to pariaman
I think there can be no real complaints that they were both dropped
and using that same argument..why haven't Brathwaite and Hope been dropped?
In reply to Maispwi
Hes not the first player to have a retainer contract and not be selected
And if you want to get granular and say hes the first to have an all formats contract and be dropped, are you suggesting that an all formats contract means a player with such a contact is, or should be, undroppable regardless of performance?
In reply to Jumpstart
It is a dangerous precedent to set to award contracts dat have not been earned. What happens if he has not played much international cricket by March 31 2020 when the next evaluation period ends?
In reply to Maispwi
The very definition of earned includes based on past performance.
You saying Bravo didnt perform based on his past performances?
He was the WI batsman with the highest test batting average before his exile by the previous administration
He was one of the better performing WI batsmen in ODI format
His performances in CPL prior to this year were outstanding.
His return to the team was righting a wrong. No different than a worker returning to his or her job, position and salary after being away for some time due to wrongful dismissal.
You suggesting that worker should have to start all over to prove themselves before being reinstated?
In reply to imusic
Dis is not about Bravo. Dis is about a policy of awarding central contracts that are supposed to be based on performance during a given time period.
If the Board wants to go the way of incentive contracts like how it has done for emerging players then they shud create a separate category but to be awarding performance based contracts where there were no performances to measure is playing with fire.
In reply to Maispwi
These contracts are not like other International sports contracts, there are yearly.
A player can lose all contracts after a year, it is not like DMB signed a $20 million for 5 years.
In reply to imusic
Pal you reaching. In 7 CPL seasons Bravo has passed 300 runs only once, in 2018
In reply to openning
What does de length of the contract have to do with anything? When an organisation starts awarding performance based contracts on de alleged dat eh based on performance but as hinted to right a wrong dey looking for trouble
In reply to Maispwi
Your opinion on DMB or any other player contract is yours.
I've no problem with it, dont even need to discuss any other player contract.
In reply to Maispwi
Bro, you gotta remember who awarded the contracts are totally different than who picked this squad. It was always a farce to give Bravo an all format contract when everyone saw his white ball form was horrible.
So, we can't continue to cover up one mess by committing another. It's better for everyone if Bravo goes back and find form at first class then come back, because make no mistake, he is the best test batsman we've had after Gayle, Sarwan debut. It don't mean even if he out of form he must always play. Its up to him to come and reclaim that tag
In reply to jen
I think one of the problems they have with Bravo is his decision not to play in the warm up games in the recently concluded series.
In reply to methodic
And that is the same problem they had with Jerome Taylor a few seasons back and that recommendation was made by one of his own Cuddy Walsh leading to his infamous retirement.
We are all quick to throw selectors under the bus but in reality that job of a West Indies Selector is a very difficult and thankless job.
A lot of these boys are gifted but largely they are lazy and entitled. It goes a long way to explaining many of the so-called selectors picks.
If I am not mistaken, the teams selected are only for the limited overs games, the Test team would be selected later, therefore guys like Roach, Gabriel, Bravo and Kraigg would come back in.
btw let me just register how
delighted i am for mah bwoy sheps
go do your thing bruh
Ramdin...T20? lolz
