No problem with the white ball teams apart from Ramdin pick. But missed opportunities to improve test squad. One or both of Brandon King and Pooran should have been introduced especially if King could be an alternative option at top of order. Pooran can be more than a lick it cricket player. I also dont know what qualifies Cornwall to be a better option in tests than in white ball game.
Hopefully the next PCL season will encourage a revisit but the danger is that the likes of Pooran wont even bother with 4 day game

Test squad disappointments
In reply to Logic
I saw a clip of a CPL game where the ball was struck high in the air and landed at short mid on. Cornwall was at short midwicket and couldn't get there.
That may be the reason.
Where can I find the test squad?
Thought they said it was going to be announced Nov 17th?

Lol. Was not really advocating for him to be in additional formats was more wondering, given that his best attribute is some lower order hitting, and given that there is no other offspinner in T20 squad, why is test squad burdened with him and not white ball squads

I agree t20 suits cornwall game perfectly.

Fitness will more affect you in short ball cricket than long form, believe it or not. Playing a high intensity T20 game is very draining. It's why i'm good with Cornwall in Tests but not T20. Cornwall if batting in the middle will be a liability, serious, and everybody know am a big Cornwall fan.
Don't worry, Pooran will eventually get into the test squad. Think he is getting a chance to settle down in the limtied overs format first then move on.
Eventually, if the test batsmen who were already there don't step up, I think they will eventually get replaced just as we have seen some players lose their spot in the shorter format.
We all know the likes of Brathwaite, Hope, Campbell, Hetmyer hasn't had the best of times recently but using a brand new squad for test cricket is suicide. Eventually phase one out and one in
I too wanted to see King in tests. I wanted to see Shepherd in T20 too but at least they got into a squad. so they still have somewhere to start and kick on.
My only question with the Test squad is Brooks. Unless they want to give him one more Test run to be fair. Cotterell deserves his place and a leftie pacer is good to have until one of the younger lefties is ready

Shute. Brooks in the squad? That's another guy who wont make runs when they matter.
If Hetmyer can make all 3 formats no reason why Pooran cant. My fear is that despite our test record being better than our white ball record in recent times, the message will be sent to certain players that it's ok for them to skip PCL and disappear into the various white ball leagues.

Both King and Pooran got better techniques for red-ball cricket than Hetmeyer currently.
Hetmeyer has de-evolved at a crucial moment in his career.
