HEADLINE: Skerritt’s new-look CWI brings an end to the ‘previous administration’ defence

CaribbeanCricket.com Oct 16, 2019, 7:44:11 PM

And…. breathe. It has been a roller coaster period for Cricket West Indies (CWI) President Ricky Skerritt, Cricket West Indies itself, the West Indies team and the fans; as we approach seven months since that Sunday on the 24th of March 2019 when Skerritt defeated then CWI President Dave Cameron by eight votes to four to rise to the summit of West Indies cricket. With that, Caribbean fans, even now, continue to witness what can be labelled as the domino effect we all suspected would follow a Skerritt victory. Below is a timeline of the major decisions in the Skerritt era of West Indies cricket.

Mere days after his appointment, the then president was quoted by Cricbuzz, on Saturday April 6, saying “There must be no reason for non-consideration other than cricket or medical or physical health.” A well-intentioned statement, which many suspected was an arm around the shoulders of those who had been ‘blacklisted’ by the outgoing administration.

Who bothers to write a chronology of events since Cameron without any serious commentary? What a waste of my two minutes.

CWI were direct in their search for a permanent head coach, telling potential applicants that “persons without West Indian heritage need not apply”. And on Monday October 14, 2019 Cricket West Indies, through a press release, confirmed that the favourite for the position of WINDIES Men’s head coach—Phil Simmons—had indeed been reinstated.

Is there someone at CC.com vetting these stories? How can an article like this find editorial favour?

The last paragraph was typical gobbledygook, another word for XDFIX and his articles.

Did they change the article? I see no mention of Desmond Haynes being appointed as interim anything:

" While, Robert Haynes was appointed interim Chairman of Selectors on the back of the dismissal of Courtney Browne"

Yep it has since been changed to Robert Haynes. I anticipated this and this is why I quoted it in my first post above. In that way they would have lil' editorial control over my post.

Unless there are very serious Changes in the WICBC & THE REGIONAL CRICKET
BOARDS , WE aint going to rise from theBottom of International Cricket .

IT REALLY AINT ABOUT OUR PLAYERS FOLKS

IT IS ABOUT THE ABYSMAL STEWARDSHIP OF

THE WORST INTERNATIONAL CRICKET BOARD

IN THE COMMONWEALTH , AKA THE WICBC .

The Regional 100+ years Cricket Board
that bluntly refuses to change its
Plantation Mentality Syndrome , that
is mainly responsible for the decline
of West Indies Cricket .

Its Autocratic Style of governing will never ever succeed unless the
WICBC & the Regional Cricket Boards
come to the Realization that to attain Progress in West Indies Cricket there must be H A R M O N Y
at ALL LEVELS .

The Numerous Faux Sports Journalists
in the Region who relish excoriating Our Players , while worshiping their
Masters in the WICBC , are to Dumb to
understand that THEY also by their
silence regarding the abysmal Stewardship of the Worst
International Cricket Boardin the
Commonwealth have been , are also responsible for the current State of West Indies Cricket ;due to their Blind allegiance to the WICBC , while
refusing to acknowledge the many Flaws of the Worst International Cricket Board in the Commonwealth .

Thanks for Your Support . It is truly
sad that the WICBC bluntly refuses to
understand and remedy ALL the Ills that
it has fostered in West Indies Cricket.

Make absolutely no mistake ,Those in the Media who Masquerade as Sports Journalists Must also bear some responsibility for their blind Allegiance to the Worst International
Cricket Board in the Commonwealth .

Quite frankly it is the unholy Alliance between the WICBC & their
Serfs in the Media that has brought
West Indies Cricket to a new Low in
International Cricket .

Sadly neither the WICBC or their Friends in the Media realize the great disservice , and harm they have done , and are doing to West Indies Cicket .

Here's hoping that real change is finally on the way...

I seriouslydoubt that will ever happen ; The stark freaking fact is this :

THE WICBC IS OVER 100 YEARS OLD , AND

IT HAS NOT SEEN IT FIT TO CHANGE IS

ARCHAIC STRUCTURE .

Hell if in all those years it has not
seen it fit to change its Structure,
What the Hell makes You believe that
it is going to do that Now ????

THE WICBC HAS ACQUIRED ALL THE POWER

IT WANTS ; AND THEREFORE HAS

ABSOLUTELY NO REASON OR INCENTIVE TO

CHANGE .

THE PLANTATION MENTALITY SYNDROME

THAT AFFLICTS ALL WHO BECOME MEMBERS

OF THE WICBC IS AKIN TO THE MARK OF

CAIN . IT CANNOT EVER BE ERASED .

This is precisely why I firmly believe
that :

WE HAVE TO START All OVER AGAIN WITH

REGARD TO WEST INDIES CRICKET . THE

WICBC MUST BE TOTALLY & COMPLETELY

RESTRUCTURED ; ALSO THE REGIONAL

CRICKET BOARDS .

WE SIMPLY CANNOT & MUST NOT POUR NEW

WINE IN OLD BOTTLES , SO THOSE

CURRENTLY IN THE WICBC & ON THE

REGIONAL CRICKET BOARDS WILL HAVE TO

DEMIT THEIR POSITIONS . THEIR

THINKING , AND ATTITUDE BELONG TO A

BYGONE ERA .

Unless in West Indies Cricket there
exists a genuine belief in having
Harmony between those in the governance of Cricket and Our Players

WE AINT GOING TO GET OUT OF THE

BOTTOM OF INTERNATIONAL CRICKET .

The very fact that in all those years
the WICBC has not seen it fit to change is Structure is valid proof that They are happy with the current
Structure , never mind the fact that WE are wallowing at or near the Bottom of International Cricket .

How the Hell change can come when the
WICBC , aka the Worst International
Cricket Board in the Commonwealth , has
commissioned several Reports and has bluntly Ignored the Findings of those Reports ?????????
a
Obviously the Modus Operandi of the
WICBC was and is to Bamboozle the General Public into believing that it
will make changes .

History informs us that commissioning
these Reports was simply a cruel Smoke Screen . The fact is that the
WICBC had & has absolutely no intention of undergoing serious
Structural Reforms .

It can continue in its permanent obfuscation because its MANY Serfs in
THE Media will always agree with
Their Masters in the WICBC .
