More Windies youth investment
On the heels of Super50 tournament, CWIs Skerritt vows
CRICKET West Indies president, Ricky Skerritt, has vowed to invest more in West Indies youth development after the West Indies Emerging Players copped the Colonial Medical Insurance Super50 Cup in resounding fashion with a 205-run win over the Leeward Islands Hurricanes.
This is big for us. The investment will follow them (the young players) wherever they are. Our high performance system, as we get more investment, will begin to produce more interventions, Skerritt promised after congratulating the squad on their achievement. He said the future wasnt about keeping this core unit specifically but creating a bigger system so individual players could enter as part of a feeder system and move on to greater success.
I dont think its so important to keep them together as an exact entire group. What is important is the standards they have set for themselves with the support and investment that they have received, we can keep that happening over the next year and beyond, Skerritt said. Resources and funding are crucial to this and the president said CWI would be aiming to secure as such for the future.

See that After-tournament resolution is what separates you from the previous president, one has to have vision for the future of which Cameron, Browne, et al had none. Great thinking Mr President but I also want you to help in the promotion of cricket to main-stream fans on the larger islands which is currently waning.

Partner, not so, you ever watch Julien bat in youth Cricket? That boy can bat. So can Melius but he just didn't kick off. Justin Greaves should be playing for Barbados, plain and simple. I've heard many bajans arguing that Keon Harding should be playing too. Teams just need to pick the youths them.
Look Windwards kept playing Alick Athanaze, leading run scorer in last youth world cup and batting him #6 & #7. See what happen when them move him up the order? Man hit 2 half centuries.
We does treat the youths them bad. I surprise people like Kirsten Kallicharan drop off the radar. That youth can bat!!

doesn't matter if they play for the pride, WI-E or any other franchise, it only matters that they are playing and not sitting on a bench
