I. She lacked that Barack Obama enthusiasm. I didn't expect her to be Barack but she could have shown more enthusiasm
What was her slogan again?
2. She was not quick on her feet during the debates. She is obviously a very intelligent woman but a little more preparation would have helped.
3. She didn't have a signature issue. Pick an issue like Liz Warren and try to pound it into people's heads.
4. She was hot and cold in her criticism of the top tier candidates. You have to constantly strive to knock the other candidates off their pedestals. After all, you are trying to get where they are.
5. Didn't do enough to benefit from her minority (ethnic) background. She did that initially when she announced her candidacy but not much after that.

Kamala Harris, 5 things that went wrong
In reply to black
Was her father right?
//
In reply to Ewart
I know he was a little critical of her but I cannot remember his exact comments
In reply to Ewart
Another thing people don't realize, campaigning for President is extremely hard work.
I agree with #3 She didn't have a signature issue. She tried to define herself as the prosecutor for a bit but that didn't garner support. Additionally, as a woman of colour people were already defining her.
She was counting on minority support and she didn't get it because black people in America know how strong the racist sentiment is right now.
Obama was/is a once in a generation politician but even Obama would have a hard time emerging from this election pool of (starting with more than 20 candidates). Dems can't run a 2007/8 style campaign in 2020.
In reply to Trinity
Obama would have emerged at the top by now. Obama was the best campaigner ever
In reply to black
Probably. He is a boss politician.
People were unsure about him heading into Iowa iirc. After he won Iowa him done the place.
In reply to Trinity
What was Kamala's slogan?
Slogans define candidates.
In reply to black
6. she was nuked by Tulsie, never recovered ...Tulsie...... the invisible, anti war, anti meddling, anti war candidate.
In reply to johndom90
She never recovered because her history as a prosecutor was damming.
In reply to black
Liz Warren and Bernie Sanders have a message that appeals to many people who are suffering under Trump in the US.
The colour of Kamala's skin is not enough to get her elected. She needed to say why her election would be better for people of colour. She failed.
In reply to mikesiva
Perhaps not but she needed to get some of the the Black vote away from uncle Joe.
Did you see the crowd that gathered when she announced her candidacy? She needed to go back to her hometown every so often to rally that support. The coverage in the media would give the impression her support was increasing. The Black vote was there for the taking because of questions about Joe's age.
In reply to mikesiva
Word. Agreed!

In reply to Trinidave
That had nothing to do with her failed campaign.
Kamala was doomed from the start, she had very little support in the Black community, the rumour of her being a harsh prosecutor against the Black community in California doomed her, also she came across as not being genuine about some issues.
In reply to dayne
Not true, her campaign launch proved that theory, wrong.
In reply to black
#6 Dems are racists.
My proof
Biden
Warren
Butt-gieg
Sanders..
All.white.
In reply to maj
Sanders is a Jew.
Unlike the Repub party, there were at least 3 blacks in the race.
In reply to black
Forget 2016 focus on 2020..
White liberals are still racist.
Bloomberg has already leapfrogged Kamala, Tulsi and Booker. Hes number 5 in the race.
White Dems are racist get over it.
Reps have an incumbent who needs a challenger of any color..
In reply to mikesiva
Dat wud have been a recipe for disaster in a white majority America. People of colour, on dere own, cyah win an election for anybody.
You think a candidate like Trump wud have won de 2016 election if a white president had preceded him?
In reply to black
By now you shud know not to judge support by crowds at rallies or launches
In reply to maj
Warren is at least 1/90th Cherokee squaw...
In reply to Larr Pullo
In reply to maj
So throw out the reason why the Dems aren't racist by advancing a person of colour oh look they are racist?
Your trolling isn't what it used to be maj.
In reply to Larr Pullo
Thought it was 1/1026th..
In reply to nick2020
Once in a lifetime white guilt..
It's incumbent upon you black/ brown Dems to prove to me white Dems are not racist. Yall keep being fooled into voting for them.
Biden hasn't been endorsed by Obama yet garners more of the black vote than any other candidate.
Yet Kamala, Booker and Tulsi are bottom feeders in the race. DT probably enjoying more black votes in total than the three combined.
In reply to Trinidave
Someone elsewhere suggested that Kloubacher didn't get the same beatdown but maybe it relates to demographics and their individual perceptions?
In reply to maj
You haven't proven that is racism. Surely you aren't advancing the position minorities should vote for a minority candidate sole because?
In reply to nick2020
Sanders and Warren are too far left, Biden is washed up, Buttigieg is a flamer from no where.
yet all are polling at the top.
Kamala was a prosecutor and a Senator from a large diverse state..serious credibility
Tulsi a veteran and centrist
Bookers..decent politician
yet these three are at the bottom explain.
the Best candidate for the Dems resume wise is Kamala..yet shes done.
all the geniasses say the majority of Dems are centrists and not left wing twitter nuts..but the left wing twitter nuts are on top..
In reply to maj
Maybe because she implied all Jamaicans smoke weed and her own father chastised her.
Maybe because of the Tribe Called Quest and Tupac blunder.
Maybe because she was performing poorly when people started gunning her down.
Maybe because her line of work made her less than endearing to the same segment of people you think should just vote for her along racial lines.
But all this would be very inconvenient to your position. So yes she was a wonderful candidate.
In reply to maj
But again you didn't prove racism.
In reply to nick2020
All the other candidates are without flaws.
Warren lied about her heritage.
Sanders is a socialist.
Biden is a bumbling fool..
Buttigieg is an unknown and has past issues with the black community. And he is gay.
Its convenient to forget their issues. Dems want a return to normalcy. Well normalcy means white is right.
In reply to maj
I wasn't the one going thru that exercise; you were.
But again you have failed to prove the reason why people did not like her was due to her race.
But you instead are just talking all around it because, well, you cannot prove the racism angle.
Here is what we know - the Democrats had a non white man and a white woman represent the party in elections. The Republicans are still stuck on white men. If this year make them racist I have no idea what the right term is for the Republicans.
In reply to nick2020
It's not a matter of liking Kamala it's all about liking what you know and are comfortable with.
Black Republicans are ostracized. They are automatically branded uncle toms.
In reply to maj
So you have proof Kamala was unpopular because of her race?
In reply to black
Did she have a slogan? I don't remember.
In reply to Trinity
That's my point.
In reply to nick2020
She pulled the race card on Biden, you think he was the only one made to feel uncomfortable, embarrassed and small in that moment. She also made millions of white Americans feel the same about their past and loved ones who participated in segregation.
No one like ls to be blamed for what someone else did. They are not proud of the behavior of their older family members but they certainly dont want these family members attacked for it either.
Kamalas issue was she had nothing of substance that she ran on, she only did well at the debates. African Americans were not bought by her message am scratching my head er she had none.
