Kieron Pollard: "Batters did a good effort. You'd take 208 ten out of ten times. We lost due to the extras column. Nearly 2 and a half overs of extra deliveries. Yes, it was a batting wicket, but if we executed our plans better, it could've been a different story. There are only two areas where we lost the game in. Usually we tend to focus on negatives, but a lot of positives to takeaway today. King and Hetmyer showed great intent. Fielders did well. In the end, we need to improve, and we will win if we learn to tick more boxes. Can't fault the effort of the guys."

All I see is a stupid and loaded question as the title of the thread.
Pollard will earn his keep as T20 captain of any team. Jason can only keep his place in any T20 team as captain. He and Kesrick gave away the match against India today.

Today was a day, Pollard could have shown his experience as an All-rounder, and bowl the maximum overs.
Both Holder and Williams, did not need to bowled out, as they were being hammered.

On a serious note. Do you really and truly believe that Pollard's bowling is at a level to be classified as an all rounder? I have always seen him as a batsman who bowls a few overs when all else has failed.

Guys talking some good pupp here. This game was lost because of Kohli's brilliance.
Can't see what Pollard did wrong as Captain. He is not at level to bowl more than 2 overs without putting his action under pressure. I am not a fan of him as person but hard to argue that tactically he is not superior to Holder.....and tactics are more important the shorter the game gets.
As for suggestion Holder cost us the game, that's just silly island tit for that. If you watched game Holder actually bowled well for most of it. Raul played 2 brilliant cut shorts of balls that should have too close for the cut, but then Chinese cut past his stumps for 4 in that same 1st over. After that it wasn't until Kohli's top edged 6 in middle of Holder's 3rd over that he starting laying into him and for that matter all the other bowlers. Without Holder's 24 at 266 strike rate game would have been done an over earlier.

You may be right. I don't know. What I do know is that the results are no different.
Which brings me to the point I am making. Our problem is deeper than who is the captain...it is the quality of the resource available.

To early to say. India has an abundance of talent. But against other teams I dont think we match up that badly, talent-wise. Challenge for Pollard is can he a leader both tactically and ethically. The Pooran incident worries me. But if Pollard can avoid the gamesmanship that eventually diminishes an entire team I dont see why he cant do well at least in T20 format. 50 over format will be more of a challenge because of questions of his own batting ability in longer form. But we never won a series with Holder as cappo and Pollard has at least made a good start, against Afghanistan albeit.

Because this is a tit for tat discussion that won't end until Pollard is no longer cappo. We are here because Holder needed replacing and the Bajans got hurt when the Trinis piss paraded about Pollard "great" captaincy.

You will never find me knocking a player who is consistently performing well....doesn't matter weh the player come from.
Shai Hope has been consistently delivering with bat...I don't recall any game where we lost because of his slow batting....most times we lose when he doesn't perform with the bat
