Painful and inconvenient WI cricket diagnosis.

A word to CWI.
Our cricket is in the doldrums because of a myriad of factors. However, many are glaringly fixable. Some through astute coaching and others through counseling. It boggles my mind not understanding why we do not have an official mentoring program/system. It is often painful to watch players like Oshane Thomas mutely pleading for a word of advice walking back to his run-up after being carted repeatedly and spraying the ball at 90mph. Just imagina a Michael Holding or Courtney Walsh putting a habd around him and giving sage advise and confidence. Darren Brave is a shell of himself mentally and it manifests itself in his production. Hopefully he is on his way back. Whether some of his problems are self inflicted or nor he is ours. Some athletes do well with a kick in the pants while others thrive with a soft word of encouragement.I fear for Brandon, Hetty, Pooran, Shai, Pierre Walsh and the other gems emerging. Not many will have the foresight like Chanderpaul, who appreciated his uniqueness and spent thousands of hours through the years with a bowling machine perfecting his craft. Clearly Brandon wants to cut everything an inch outside his off stump and keeps failing. It can/must be fixed before his confidence goes. He openly ststed that Sarwan was his hero. Sarwan was a better reader of line and length which allowed him to be such a fearsome cutter of the ball. His mentoring would be invaluable. Hetty is supremely talented but is becoming a casualty of the seductive IPL and a self destructive ego. He must know he has not 'arrived'. He needs serious counseling and mentorship fast. Pollard is the best we have available but a fit Russel should replace him ASAP. He is good for the occasional entertaining inning but HE IS NOT an international bowler. I however think he will give his best, yet "a one eye man is king in blind man country" so he can be respected for his effort. I am encouraged by Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran. The young brigade is capable and ready to take our game to the next level if we would only honor out touted commitment to WI cricket and by extension its peoples. Hard work and dedication always pays off in the end but the product is perfected by the involvement of the masters who walked this way before and the will of CWI to engage them in this collective thing. I have spoken to a few of them. They know the way and are wiling to engage meaningfully. Just imagine what Ireland would do with Oshane Thomas in their ranks.

A few paragraphs would help what you wrote easier to read

A paragraph is a self-contained unit of a discourse in writing dealing with a particular point or idea.

A paragraph consists of one or more sentences. Though not required by the syntax of any language, paragraphs are usually an expected part of formal writing, used to organize longer prose.

FYI I am not here to elicit readership. If u find my post too much to process then I am not writing for you. It is sad u think only a few would read it. Did u consider that perhaps that's my intended target?. Furthermore, I took a look at some of your postings and I'll be darned if i'd have YOU lecture me on grammar or communication. Finally - structure notwithstanding - IS THERE ANYTHING I SAID U DO NOT UNDERSTAND??
Ok so now go read a book!!! Preferably one on language and communication. You sound like a dim witted student stuck in the Std. 1 definition of a paragraph.

Look dumbass I was only trying to help...especially when I noticed you are a newbie....but it seems you were just looking for attention.....and probably patting yourself on your back for your great achievement on posting something....I have not read it...not even the first sentence.....and I will now not read it

Why would anyone post on a message board if not to elicit readership and response?

My prediction is you will only have nuisance value here.

I usually put posters like you on IGNORE.

You are on IGNORE

Great POINTs especially in first paragraph! smile

Some through astute coaching and others through counseling. It boggles my mind not understanding why we do not have an official mentoring program/system.

Mentoring is critical to development of the individual, the professional for all round development and maturity. Not just learning to lash de ball out of the park or pelt down pace like fire.

I find your statement regarding Chanderpaul buying and using a Ball
Machine very important .

In this Forum I have stated that Players who in the Team are selected for their batting prowess and are especially selected to represent the
Region need to buy Bowling Machines , like Chanderpaul .

In this very Forum I have exhorted
Sunil Ambris to not only buy a Bowling Machine but also to use it .

Personally , I would have no problem with the WICBC , dock the pay of Players who are batsmen on the Team and buy Bowing Machines for them , Hell , buying 5 or 6 Bowling Machines should cost less money , than Players Individually buying them .

BTW , Welcome to this Forum .

Thank you Point. It is my hope that interactions with people like you can -even if in small measure - elevate our discourse about this game that has brought so many of us joy and pride.
