Will Hetmyer and Pooran represent their respective countries in the upcoming 4 day game?

Guy vs T&T
In reply to Dukes
I will not be surprise if these players are asked to rest.
Roach is only given 5-games, Chase is rested for a few weeks, Hope may play towards the end of the season.
Keith Holder explained this during commentary, last weekend.
In reply to openning
My thinking is 180 degrees from you guys.
People on this message board morning, noon and night cussing Hetty about his inability to play long innings and his lack of patience.Yet for the entire 2018 he played 1 first class match and for 2019 he also played a solitary first class match.Pooran has not played any first class matches since 2014.
How the hell can these guys excel in test cricket when they have barely played any first class cricket. In 2 full calendar years Hetty has played 2 first class matches with 3 innings.
In reply to Dukes
Brandon King
Rovman Powell
Oshane Thomas,
These GUYS don't need "REST" ... because
They never get NO game.
In reply to Dukes
T&T team is interesting because you have Solazno doing well, Cariah, Bravo, DaSilva in un-droppable form, Mohammed doing well in his only game and young Keegan Simmons not doing badly neither.
Then you have Ramdin who should be back now or in the next round, Lewis, Pooran and maybe Simmons and Pollard.
In reply to Andy99
the competition need more teams, how can Trinidad change their team? But those other guys need to continue playing first class cricket. (Pooran, Pollard, Ramdin, Bravo, Simmons, Lewis). Where is Gabriel?
Hopefully this will be the Jaguars XI if everybody available
1. Hemraj

3. Hety
4. Specialist Cappo*
5. Rutherford
6. Reifer
7. Bramble
8. Sinclair
9. Keemo
10.Shepherd
11. Permaul
Then again I doubt Sanasie gonna select Rutherford unless big Phil tell dem he gotta play.. Sherfane in his bad book since he refused a Jaguars contract last year.. man told him he gonna regret his decision.
Barnwell or Cheesy could replace the specialist cappo and let Hety or Bramble captain the match
In reply to openning
I could see asking a fast bowler to rest. In my opinion, batsmen like Hety, Pooran and King need more opportunities to craft their game.
In reply to anthonyp
No Bishoo?
In reply to Larr Pullo
I am just going by what Keith Holder said on commentary. last weekend.
Roach is schedule to play about five games, Jason Holder will be back for a few, Chase and Shai, will be back to play, later in the competition, but are being rested.
I would not be surprise if Pooran, Hetty and Lewis are asked todo the same, seeing they have been playing ODI,T20 and a few Test, for almost a year.
In reply to imusic
Bishoo days done.. He's about 34 now and still don't have a googly or any control of his leg spin.. He played against the Leeward, bowled a set of long hops and couldn't even buy a wicket.
Don't see the point in continuing with him. Sinclair is young and got potential.. Nagamootoo was kicked out in his early 30s.. Permaul on notice too Motie and Nedd waiting for a chance.
Regional matches attracting plenty of attention again.
In reply to anthonyp
VOR says he doesnt want Motie on the Leewards.

Really need another developmental team for guys like Niall Smith...
T&T names same squad, Ramdin who is fit an available not even included in the squad.
Rampaul, Gabriel plus the WI players also out.

The weather seems quite good for cricket in the Georgetown area. So, it's just the usual sub-standard services in Guyana that's preventing commentary, it would seem.
In reply to Norm
If thats case, Gy needs to get them act together.
In reply to Cricket_101
They're busy checking the voters lists ... even if they never seem to get it right.

I thought Oil solves all problems...
In reply to Larr Pullo
Crude oil should solve crude problems, at least ...
In reply to Norm
In reply to Dukes
Agreed. Hetty definitely needs some time at crease. Would love to see Pooran force his way into test team. But he and his mentor are probably not interested

If the specialist cappo and Cheesy de pull their weight Jaguars woulda be in a better position
In reply to Bigzinc
TT is again showing a good fighting spirit, they came back well but Amazon still have a good tail to stay with Bramble.
Even after Day 1
In reply to greypatch
Trinidad will have 450 by the end of day 3.
In reply to methodic
You think they are playing at QPO?
If the titties mek 450 from two innings at Providence they would have made nuff runs
In reply to Narper
Jaguars got a leggie, left arm spinner and ah offie so getting 450 on that pitch wont be easy.
Spinners gonna enjoy that pitch.. already turning miles and keeping low
In reply to anthonyp
Whose de leggie
In reply to Jumpstart
Whose de left arm
In reply to Narper
Wait deh Narper, isn't Providence a batting paradise just like QPO,and if TT can buss scores 460 and 500 why and what makes you think they can't score 450.TT also have spinners to match Amazon, and also batsmen who are doing quite well, they don't look like the pushovers of the last few years.
In reply to Jumpstart
Same chap that scoring ah 50+ with the bat against yall tomorrow
In reply to Narper
They made the runs in Tarouba no?
T&T has good batting. If Guyana doesn't make 300+ in their 1st innings, they will lose this match.
In reply to granite
Naaah....Providence has never been a batting paradise....you may be remembering Bourda
In reply to imusic
Yeah....batting at home...and facing lampy pampy bowling
The above is from Anthonyp who lives and plays in Guyana
Morning hopefully the live stream will be up and running today.
Normally it's the performance not the player that wins matches. The team that plays better wins. Let's see how the match progresses.
"Go Red Force."
Trinidad picks leggie Magaram or however you spell it for 1 game doesn't go badly and they drop him of this one.
Hosein, Khan, Charles and Pierre are all shitty imo. They will takes wickets at regional level but never Dominate, Khan did for a while but his time is over.
We need to try and find spinners who will takes wickets consistently and not only take when things are in their favor.

them boys focused on carnival.. the cricket is incidental
In reply to Bigzinc
carnival is an excuse?
In reply to methodic
yes
In reply to Jumpstart
I am not buying it
In reply to methodic
what could be more fun than soca and uninhibited dancing plus nuff nuff pumssss
cricket taking a back seat
In reply to Bigzinc
uninhibited other things too
In reply to Jumpstart
wine, women and song
In reply to Bigzinc
if you are a committed sportsman and carnival falls in the middle of your season it shouldn't affect you negatively.
In reply to methodic
Aint carnival sport..its which sport you more committed to..
TT 32/5 after Barnwell's first over replacing Joseph.
Permaul replaces Smith now at the other end
In reply to Jumpstart
Looks like we deceived everybody with those two big scores against teams with weak bowling attack, why should some new boy rough we up like that;can we get 100 or 150,hope we can. What we goin do when we meet the Bimmers,I'm worried about them.
Solozano looks solid
In reply to granite
its a pacer doing the damage........idk if the wicket has uneven bounce or abrasions.....but trini players have never handled pacers well....the wickets are subcontinent type...primarily clay........i only know two trini batsman who handled quick bowling well....and thats lara and bharath...even lil bravo struggles...not that he does not make runs against them but its more of a struggle
In reply to Jumpstart
its a mystery how guyana with low slow batting paradise bourda
produced excellent players of fast bowling like (kanhai, butcher, lloyd, freddo, kalli, shiv and hoops)
Where's de chap that seh Red Force gonna be 450 by the end of day three?
No audio or video??? Ridiculous...
In reply to anthonyp
That was granite head if Im not mistaken!
More importantly, where is loud mouth pariaman??
Solozano goes¡!!!! 27
Lbw, who else but , Smith!!
Smith gets 5
TT 51/6
In reply to B16JP587S
Thanks man. Keep the score coming ....
In reply to Bigzinc
probably because of historically harder living. Guyana was very very poor when those guys played.....and underdeveloped....so the will to succeed i think was higher. both batting and bowling. footnote, three players-gomes, lara and bharath. That environment resulted in mental toughness. if guys couldn't play pace, they would have to adapt or they wouldn't survive. I don't know if its because of carnival, but trini players does get distracted rell quick.....case in point the red force head coach..merv dillon.
Nial Smith is a cool assassin type. Never seems bothered by anyone or anything.
Congratulations to him on another fiver.
Trinis letting us down here.
Come een, musicman and company. Jumpstart doing a lousy job with the excuses, as usual.
In reply to StumpCam
Nah I think it was methodic or some crap like that.. de joker think Red Force at home facing the likes of Green and Mindley with gentle medium on a flat deck
In reply to Norm
I particularly like the fact that he has got all of his 5 wickets via bowled & lbw.... testament Im sure of a really good line and very probably late swing.
In reply to robbo
Smith has been quite consistent. He attacks the stumps, gets the new ball to swing a bit, gets the ball to seam both ways, does not try to mix it up too much, and has a cool head.
Guyana has been blessed with good pace bowlers in recent years.
Permaul strikes on the stroke of tea.
A. Hosein caught somebody b Permaul 13
TT 70/7
My pleasure, Kay.
In reply to B16JP587S
My thanks too, B16JP587S. Much, much appreciated.
In reply to anthonyp
it was methodic, that scamp nowhere to be seen.
Anyhow, Trinidad have a 2nd innings right!
Methodic wanted to know who's the left arm spinner.. before this match done he gonna know him
Permaul is a FC bully.. He got over 400+ first class wicket and yuh gonna ask a stupid question like who's the left arm spinner? Mann yuh gotta deh pon skunt!
In reply to anthonyp
Don't burst a vein over den Trinis, bro.
T'dad is just a big dottie!
In reply to Norm
no radio stations in guyana carrying commentary? Man i listening to cricket on the radio since the 70s. Even inter county matches were broadcast
progress eh
In reply to Bigzinc
Worse yet, not a word of explanation, or an apology, from CWI or Guyana Cricket Board. They could have had a Twitter feed, at the very least.
In reply to B16JP587S
As I said the performances win matches not players. The better team will win.
Thanks for the updates!
Go Red Force!
In reply to Norm
with a score at 70/7, I'm glad there is NO media coverage!!
Nothing to tell the world!
Did we hear tt will score bout 700 decl?

In reply to pariaman

In reply to Norm
Looks like follow on
Instant chance at redemption
Hope Hinds is moved up the order cannot see odean Smith coming in before him
In reply to pariaman
Hinds made 10 not out batting at #10. One 6 and one 4. Maybe he should open.
In reply to B16JP587S
Thanks, bro.
So, the Trinis might have gotten to 100 if they only knew who that Unknown Left Arm Spinner was.
In reply to bobby
Come on Dillon be brave and bold
Let hinds move straight up the order and continue batting
In reply to Norm
Lol the unknown left arm spinner picked up a easy 4fer
Hopefully he lets his maiden 5fer in the second innings.. good way for a rookie spinner to announce himself
In reply to anthonyp
No follow on Guyana batting instead
400 in the 2nd innings is a winning score, Bravo must double
T&T no doubt seriously underperformed here. Nial Smith was an unknown force and they will watch him carefully now, like the Bajans did.
I seriously doubt that the T&T batting will fall so easily in their second innings. Rain is in the forecast for Sunday. So, there is a chance to draw the match, but it will take some fight.
In reply to pariaman
Good decision.. batting last on that pitch won't be easy
Some kept low on the opening day and Hosein and Charles had the Jaguars batsmen drawing maps.. so it will definitely get worse
In reply to pariaman
r u serious
Anybody see musicman
Granite my boy...what me tell you
Even I didn't expect Smith to create havoc
Spinners will bring home the 2 to 1
Remember...the titties playing the champions
Nial Smith struggled somewhat in the second innings against both the Leewards and Bdos. So, that may be a factor in not enforcing the follow-on.
In reply to Norm
That may be the reason ... give him enough rest. How old is Smith?
In reply to Kay
Early 20's.
In reply to Narper
To say I am surprised is an understatement,it proves once again you cannot be too sure about TT cricket,I never believed that a new boy from Guyana would flatten us like that, even if didn't apply ourselves I expected better. This innings has totally put me off this present lot,Solozano,Simmonds,de Silva must spend another 2 seasons,at the moment all TT has to offer is Bravo and possibly Hosein or Charles.Back to the drawing board, this is embarrassing.
Nial Smith 8-2-12-5
Unknown Left Arm Spinner 13-5-29-4

What going on with your red farce?
In reply to tc1
Since Ganga left, the Red Force can only play 20 overs cricket.
People got carried away, by the two games played in T&T.
In reply to openning
2 matches great
1 inning failed
Let's see the second inning before judging
In reply to pariaman
Tell the world how T&T have done, in the regional 4-day tournament, in the previous 5 years.
In reply to tc1
we go win in second innings.
In reply to openning
We have not done well
Just saying let's see how the rest of the match goes
In reply to sgtdjones
Good job by Smith.
He looked very good against Bim also.
Bajans play fast bowling a bit better though.
In reply to B16JP587S
Tage outscoring Hemraj. What a thing. He must like the Trini bowling.
In reply to openning
Could you remember some of the people who repped TT over the last 5 years, you know very well that we started losing players with the start of the IPL.
I could be wrong but this is what I observed during the second inns.
It seems to me like the first inns batting disaster got to Bravo. When they came out to field he started making loud, obnoxious noises to some his teammates. He threw the ball back to the wk with a lot of force even though the batsman was comfortably in his crease. Luckily he didn't hit the batsman. He was talking, in what I judged to be hostile, to DaSilva from mid on He gesticulated wildly over and over until the umpire had a word with him. I don't know if this will make the news.
As I said, this was my impression of what was going on. Also some other spectators too. Maybe I am wrong. But I don't think so
In reply to B16JP587S
Pardna is the same way he was behaving in the first innings.. hollering on everybody and as soon as the ball hit pad one set of unnecessary noise.. wonder if the match referee gonna fine him for appealing too much..
Btw ah hope u supported the bar man and buy couple cold ones.. you needed it to watch tage bat
In reply to anthonyp
I wish I was there with you and B16JP supporting the barman. Will arrange with Doosie to see if we can pull it off!
In reply to Norm
What did i miss man?
Btw that unknown leftie is 2 wickets away from 500
T & T have been found wanting in this match. Another match or two will verify if backbone is there.
How good is this Smith from Guyana? I look forward to seeing him.
In reply to anthonyp
Ha ha! Tage can surely wear you out. Shockingly he is ahead of Hemraj so far in the second inns.
We in a bad state morning of Day 3
See if wickets can be taken
The pitches in TT has a lot to do with the performances of the players for many years. I know in Guyana its similar but for some reason they do come up with the odd good batsman or bowler. The TTCB needs to revise and their system.
Jaguars 123/3
Specialist captain fail again made 15
Lead is now 348
In reply to anthonyp
already too much but 450 will be just right
In reply to Norm
With you and doosra there we might actually reach a 100 spectators
In reply to tc1
tc1,your life and happiness seems to depend on how bad Trinidad does in anything, isn't that so,I honestly don't think you are Bajan,if not where the hell yuh come from.
In reply to granite
Limestone tc1 still angry dat all he flying fish now resides in Tobago waters.
Doh worry we winning unless rain saves the muddies.
when will these cowards declare?
In reply to methodic
Who are 'cowards'??????
In reply to netgrouchy
the ones who fraid to enforce the follow on

I would like to believe we can even save the bloody match.

In reply to Narper
And dais why ah did not put him back in St Anns- only because are you
In reply to granite

In reply to granite tt tekking lix till they buck sick! Predict their 2nd innings score ...I predict 217
In reply to goliath
Tities ain't making 100 in the second innings .. imagine ottley turning the ball square so expect permaul to wreck havoc
In reply to Devvvvvvv Bravo gonna make some runs unless Smith ruff he up
Jaguars 168/5
Lead 393
They gonna bat until tea.. Red Force gonna have to survive a tricky last session
In reply to goliath
He can...but the difficulty to bat on that pitch in the final day would just make it hard for bravo and co to survive 3 sessions
In reply to granite
TTs battle is to salvage a draw. Smith should be full throttle second innings very attacking field , lots of runs on the board.
From all reports Smith seems to be special. Good for WI. His impact so far is similar to that of Ambrose in his first season..
Jaguars 177/5

4 overs left today
Guyana need 4 wickets to win
In reply to B16JP587S
Thanks, and keep the updates coming, B16 and AnthonyP.
Much appreciated.
BTW, for Bishoo's numerous fans in the southeastern Caribbean, isn't true that Bishoo got that wicket with a big googly on a perfect length?
And, looks like Bishoo is ready to take back his rightful spot in every WI team again, both as leg spinner and specialist nightwatchman ...

I dont mind TT being dismissrd by smitj. Bu all accounts, he is quality. But getting dismissed by two Windies rejects who have a total of two variations is unacceptable

Game over - there is always another game down the line!
Big batting TnT crumbles twice in the face of a good bowling attack
In reply to Norm
Thank for the updates. Congrats Gy. Awesome bounce back from the Pride defeat.
Cant wait till allya visit we
A beatdong fer allya....
As I said before the team that performs better will win.
Well done Jaguars.
TT will have to review their game and plans moving forward.
In reply to sgtdjones
Congrats Guyana!!!
I didn't make the trip from Berbice to Providence today because of the anticipated few minutes of play. I regret missing the moment of victory though.
Next week we are off but I plan to be there cheering Guyana the other week against Jamaica, I think it is .
Congratulations to Guyana comprehensive victory
That is some serious licks. Congrats Jags!!
Congrats Guybau.....this new oil that you gats is hard to read.
Good bowling in both innings and to top it , Smith was not really needed second time around.
Also good that TT brought down to earth a little bit...nothing wrong with getting a good cutarse now and then..
Saw specialist cappo at the shop at 1130 buying coconut water
And i did not see rain.
What did i miss

TT vs Jam drew although TT played a lot better. However, certain moments or periods in a game where one team can dominate which can have an impact to a point of no return.
Don't try to be a smart ass with me and don't get me wrong!
Although there wasn't any stream or audio, all credit to the Jaguars. TT hasn't impressed me despite scoring big against ordinary attacks the last two matches. There bowling needs a better balance, their fielding have been poor and their batting looks vulnerable against the quicker bowlers.
Jaguars and Pride are the two top teams and TT has shown they have a lot of work to do in order to challenge them at the top.
Good for TnT, how can you leave out the likes of Ramdin and co.
Thes young players have been complacent for years now, all back to when Cariah and Ottley started, they've been around what 8 years now, I'd guess and still can't command a place in the XI. The common thing with TnT is a young player will start the season well, get hyped up and thats it for him, no more performances for the season.
My team for the next round, not considering WI players who may be on duty:
Solozano
Simmons
Da Silva
Bravo
Cariah
Ramdin
Hosein
Hinds
Magaram
Rampaul
Gabriel

Charles took the most wickets in the last two matches
In reply to methodic
Hosein did, he has 16 vs Charles 13.
But my call is more on I've seen enough of Charles and his stats tell me enough that he isn't good enough.
78 wickets at 30 in his FC career is not nearly good enough.
I'm not sure of Magram quality but seeing as he's a leggie, I'd give him 3 games or so and see what he has, if he isn't good then try another.
Tired of us just giving ordinary spinners who are decent but not good at FC level and certainly not international material.
In reply to Andy99
ok, I can't argue with that.
In reply to Andy99
how about the batting, can Lewis or one of these play the next game before the Sri Lanka tour
In reply to methodic
I doubt, would've loved for Lewis and especially Pooran to play in a match or 2 but I doubt they can.
I am not exactly sure but I think the Sri Lanka tour is around the first or second week of February so they should be flying out soon.
Kallicharan could also be brought into the mix.
In reply to Andy99
Pooran especially, I concur
In reply to Andy99
The bottom line is that TT batsmen are vulnerable against the quicker bowlers due to the slow nature of the pitches throughout TT. Hence the reason for só many slow bowlers in the team that relies on the pitches for assistance. Something needs to be done about the infrastructure in TT cricket.
In reply to Andy99
The first ODI is Feb 22
In reply to azadtnt
what crap you posting. Bourda was known worldwide as a batting paradise.. slow and predictable bounce.
You know the batting legends who could beat up fast bowling from Guyana
