Jamaica is full strength in batting (minus
Fabian Allen) but our bowling remains
suspect ... As Oshane Thomas remains in

In reply to Yadi
Yadi I would put Palmer and Bonner above blackwood in the batting order base on current form. I like the idea of king batting at 3.
In reply to Spoilt101
Well they are comfortable batting 5 and 6. See results.
In reply to Yadi
Pride Kraigg Brathwaite, Sheyne Moseley, Shamarh Brooks, Jonathan Carter, Shane Dowrich, Kyle Mayers, Justin Greaves, Kevin Stoute, Ashley Nurse, Jomel Warrican, Kemar Roach, Chemar Holder, Keon Harding

All games begin tomorrow.
In reply to Yadi
You have a tough team, so stop complaining.
In reply to Spoilt101
Barbados bats as Paul Palmer sits.
How did Bim manage to find a batsman in dis tiny island who bats slower than Paint
I plan on watching for most of today. So I see Campbell win and toss and field for the 3rd straight time..Quite likely they
will follow on again.
As pacers None of Mindley,Gordon, Green nor Powell can frighten any batsman. Surely Leveridge at least gives you that.
Did Jamaica really produce Hines Johnson,Gilchrist,Holding and Patterson ?
Brooks may get a double here.
So Brooks could now get a double...ducks that is
Rovman taking wickets? Amazing.
In reply to Norm
Rovman bowling some decent stuff.
Committed cricketer
In reply to tc1
Powell removes both WI test batsmen.
In reply to Oilah
Jamaica needs two more wickets.
In reply to openning
Powell (2) , Gordon (2) , Mindley (1)
among the wickets.
In reply to Yadi
did you really say they drop Palmer?
In reply to hubert
Frighten, I thought the objective is to take wickets. Calling for fast and foolish makes you look a bit silly.
In reply to methodic
Palmer has been carrying an injury.
In reply to natty_forever
Jamaica trail by 189.
In reply to natty_forever
Holder strikes ...
but my feed cut off.
In reply to Yadi
Holder got 4
Could tell when Mindley and Green were bowling the the lift in the wicket would benefit Holder and Harding. The hit the deck harder.
You can the difference in the two teams bowling.
In reply to seaegg99
HOLDER strikes again ....
Campbell out.
In reply to seaegg99
Young Bhai need a West Indies call up
right now.
And he gets a 5th.... 53-6 close of play
Powell out
Superb from Chemar Holder
Think a pace attack of the 2 Holders, roach and aljo could rip the Brits apart in June and be the start of a new era.
In reply to Conorboy
Shemar Holder strikes again.
In reply to Conorboy
The last time this happened a Patrick
Patterson led Jamaica bowled out the
Leeward Islands, including Vivian Richards,
for 41.
JA likes the follow-on policy, seems set for 3rd in a row. I guess every 1st innings is purely for batting practice or warm-up for the 2nd innings.
In reply to natty_forever
Do you understand what frighten means in terms of fast bowling. ?
Fast but not foolish, son. Creates terror around the head..Makes batsmen lose appetite for run scoring.
I guess you are young enough to hear of Lillee and Thomson when they invited the 75-76 West Indies batsmen to their necktie parties.... 5-1.
Grow up and learn rasta.
Too many pie throwers now calling themselves fast bowlers. I gave you four Jamaican fast bowlers. When I see Mindley,Gordon et al I have to wonder.
I watched therm for a while and no batsman had to bob and weave..compare to a spell by Chamar Holder the Bim youngster.
In reply to Slipfeeler
The captain led the team astray. He went out to bat and was playing like a man who had just passed 100. Problem is the 100 was in the previous game. Instead of encouraging young Oraine Williams to dig in and play 4 day cricket he had the youngster trying to play a shot a ball.
Brainless cricket by a brittle batting line-up.
In reply to Headley
Campbell, King, Blackwood and Powell brittle?
what happen dem buoy run like skunt!
In reply to methodic
These chaps are funny. One day these guys are the coming of Headley and Rowe, the next day they are brittle. What gives !!!
In reply to NYCGURU
Who was the poster who claimed that after 2 follow-ons? Clearly you jest or hallucinate.
Match over by tomorrow, or Sunday.
In reply to Yadi
I think the the youngster with the more talent might be young Drakes, Holder, Harding and Drakes on. Bouncey oval wicket is dangerous.
In reply to methodic

The bowling from Roach and Holder was impressive. However, the batsmen didn't show any stomach to stand up and fight. Conversely, Holder's first ball was hooked savagely by Campbell for a massive six. Holder didn't panic though, he held his nerve and came back to take five wickets. The way cricketers handle adversity is the difference between winning and losing.
In reply to hubert
I know, but when you call certain names, it nullifies your argument.
And hurbert I was in high school 75-76.
In reply to Fivestar
I would agree, but this yaad side falling over to all and sundry.
taking nothing away from holder he is bowling beautifully but is they a thought that modern west indies batsmen are raised up on poor pitches against medium pacers they are no longer adapt to playing quick bowlers or taking on short pitch bowling like years ago the guyanese batsmen were floored by barbados literally and now jamaicans are having the same problems with aggressive bowling
In reply to Yadi
I notice Palmer is not on the score card. Is he injured?
In reply to velo
On a properly prepared pitch. Hopefully this can be the trend, so they will have to "learn to swim or drown".
I was gonna go to sabina park yesterday and watch those sad lot repping the Yard. Glad I stayed away.
In reply to natty_forever
What is my argument ? and what is nullified.? get me up to speed .
I am surprise, it looks like Jamaica dropped the batsman who has been consistent this season so far, Palmer. However, it is either Holder bowled well or Jamaica's batsmen need to be practicing a lot more.
In reply to Yadi
Is he injured ? That's the only reason they could leave him out.
In reply to natty_forever
Derval Green Survives dropped catch
and run-out attempt.
Derval Green died ... as he lived by the
GUN.
In reply to dayne
Understand he is injured. Not even the Jamaican selectors are that clueless.
They kept him as a passenger season after season so why would they drop him now that he is finally scoring some runs?
Deficit drops below 99 as Dennis Smith
Solid batting technique BLOCKS Barbados
advance.
In reply to Spoilt101
Absolutely a Bowling Masterclass by
Shemar Holder .... NO fluke to the
Manner he worked the batsmen out.
West Indies has a THINKING Bowler.
In reply to Yadi
Jamaica ducks a few bullets here ...
As we are NOT made to pay for our top
order batsmen not making the necessary
adjustments for A STICKY WICKET.
BIM leads by 84, if we can half that we should be able to make it interesting.
In reply to Conorboy
This is the ideal wicket for PAUL PALMER
to get another century ..... .
The Pitch is Bouncy .... But SLOW.
In reply to camos
Shemar Holder got 4 of his 5 wickets
by exploiting the over exuberance of the
Jamaican batsmen to go HARD at the bowling
without taking into account the PACE of
the wicket.
It was NOT Pace like Fire Bowling.
It was intelligent use of length, pace
& movement to induce mistakes from batsmen
Who do not have the patience of a;
Dennis Smith or a Paul Palmer.
John Campbell got a shorter from a good
Length. And was OUT through no fault of
His own.
Bonner was FOXED by Kemar Roach.
In reply to Norm
Barbados to bat again ... with an 80 run
lead.
Paint gives away his wicket again. What is going on in his brain these days?
In reply to solidrock
Brathwaite still short of runs ...
But Brooks looks to fill his boots up.
In reply to openning
Gordon doing the damage for Jamaica.
Kraigg
Brooks
Carter
Dowrich
Struggling to score runs.
Trinidad get bowled out for 98 ...
So batting not too pretty this round.
In reply to openning
Brooks
Carter
Dowrich
Struggling to score runs.
and yet we KNOW we will get useful scores from Greaves, Walcott, Springer and McCaskie.
Look at Moseley, outscoring the test players in this match consistently.
The test players are just not hungry for runs...they test positions secure.
carlos brathwaite need to be on this team
In reply to analyst-kid
How would you know?
None of them dominate at the elite division, or is consistent with an average of forty or more, yearly.
Barbados lead by 147 with 6 wickets standing. Jamaica has to restrict them below 200....anything between 200-250 batting last on this track will be tricky esp with the fast bowlers and Warrican/Nurse yet to bowl.
In reply to analyst-kid
Dowrich and Myers putting up resistance.
In reply to Yadi
Love your thread bro
In reply to Chrissy
There is a hobby, for retired educators.
In reply to natty_forever
Dowrich passes half century mark ...
And the consistent Myers approaches
another fifty-plus inning.
At least one of the West Indies TEST
Batsmen has figured out how to survive
on this track.
So far Jamaica fought for almost two
sessions (Four Hours) to get only 4
Wickets.
Yet yesterday in less than an hour
we gave up our SIX BEST BATSMEN.
In reply to openning
In reply to Chrissy
Harty grabs two late wickets to bring
Jamaica back from the gates of HELL.
In reply to Yadi
They both batted well.
With the West Indies players in the squad, it would be a good time, to replace Carter, Stoute and Nurse, with younger players.
would move Dowrich to either three or four, Greaves at #5, and Mayers at #6.
that lbw to Williams was doubtful to say the least. He was hit outside off and to me it was plain
some of these commentators are terrible, man leaving the ball and they are saying they are beaten
In reply to methodic
King gone ... again.
what a terrible shot by King, swinging across the line of a full one and was plumb in front
Rovman if you pull this off - book your flight to Sri Lanka in first class
In reply to goliath looks like ah do a VOR pon Rovman...Bdos got too much firepower with C.Holder, Harding and Roach in the mix
In reply to openning
This is a strange team. Roach, Harding, Holder, Nurse, Warrican (5 specialist bowlers) Mayers - Allrounder Dowrich - keeper and just 4 specialist batsmen
Where is that McCaskie young batsmen, or even Tevyn Walcott, Greaves...
In reply to Baje
a very strange team, Roach, Harding, Holder, Mayers, Nurse, Warrican, Carter all bowl. The batting is struggling yet they are a batsman short
In reply to Yadi
Why is it the Jamaica batsmen (in a 4 day game) are always in a hurry?
In reply to Yadi
I was a bit harsh on the commentators, they are making a lot of sense when they talk about the technical side of the game.
Interestingly one pointed out some technical flaws about Blackwood's batting after watching him in the net. These are the same flaws Blackwood had years ago when he played for West Indies.
Another one said Bonner is the best batsman in Jamaica. How interesting is that?
In reply to Chrissy
92 for six ...
Deja Vu?
In reply to Baje
Mayers has a back injury so we are carrying FIVE specialist bats and the keeper Dowrich with Mayers the leading batsman this season so far.
In reply to analyst-kid
Warrican injured now.
In reply to Chrissy
Trinidad facting-up again, mih hear.
Jamaica 121 for 7
In reply to Yadi
Mindley is entertaining at the crease
In reply to TheTrail
The FAT lady begins to clear her throat.
In reply to natty_forever
It's all over.
In reply to Yadi
That was some strange play by Bonner with the tail.
He didn't even make the Bajans fight to get to the other batsmen, he just took a single and exposed them
In reply to Ray123
Well played Pride Congrats!
Warrican AND Nurse should not be in the team together...don't need both. Nurse en bowl and Warrican barely bowl. In addition to the 3 pacers Bim got Carter and Mayers...no need for two ordinary spinners. McCaskie and Greaves should get a look.
