Leewards 15 for 1 after 7 overs.
Powell out LBW to Green.
In reply to Narper
Is that pitch shiny or what.Thought I saw reflection of the batsman on it...looks like an old
time Sabina except lack of pace.

Fast bowler Nino Henry on debut!m Good to see Jacobs back as well.
Thomas gone lbw Gordon 16. Another failure. He is having a wretched season but appears irreplaceable. Jangoo in now. Needs a score too.
Lee 54/2
Hodge 24*
In reply to voiceofreason
Yip, since his stint with the Yaad it's been back to normal programming.
In reply to voiceofreason
2 LBWs.
I wouldn't trust those Yardi umpires.
In reply to natty_forever
Seems like his years of propping up the Yard have worn him out. He did have a good super50 but his R4D performances have been wretched.
LI 96 - 3* (35.3)

Seems like some dirty umpire business going on. Hope Leewards report this shite!
During the last match Leewards team told me that a certain Trini umpire blatantly threatened a senior player in the Leewards squad that if his ball was to come anywhere near his pads he would be giving him LBW - apparently this threat was simply because the player threw the ball across to the other umpire instead of to the Trini jackass.
Needless to say, the matter not only got reported to the match referee but to CWI as well. Our umpires really need to come under more scrutiny. Or, we need technology to keep up with the rest of the cricketing world smh!

Whatever happened to Kacey Carty?
In reply to Larr Pullo
Played the first two or three games but failed miserably in those games. Lost his place.
In reply to voiceofreason
lost his place because he wasn't an Antiguan
In reply to voiceofreason
Hard to believe that you could drop an obvious talent like Carty and he can't get back on this team.
176-8
In reply to Larr Pullo
Larr they wanted the guy out the team, he played two games and then dropped. A man that wasn't too far removed from West Indies consideration
Another dismal batting performance by the Leewards. We seem to have regressed this year. 182/8. Can we take this to 200 -250?
In reply to methodic
Maybe he failed the Leewards Yo Yo test?
In reply to methodic
Keacy Carty needs to take his opportunities and run with them. He has done himself no favors. Also it seems he may have a weakness to the short ball. Does not help that there is no real competitive cricket to go back to.

Good 50 that Warde! Perhaps Carty should take note! When you get opportunities you must cash in!
LEEW 215 - 9* (90.0)
In reply to voiceofreason
Time LICA put together some proper 3-day matches.
A talent like Carty shouldn't be struggling to make the Leewards side, he should be a player they plan to build the side around going forward.
In reply to WICFan
which of the regional sides have 3 day tournaments?
In reply to doosra
Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados , Jamaica for sure.
In reply to doosra
The BCA 1st Division, Elite and Intermediate division matches, have been played over three days, for many decades.
The hours play is shorter than regional hours.
In reply to openning
so is 2.5 days then?
In reply to doosra
These matches used to be played over three weekends, it is now divided over two weekends.
There is no comparison between games played on consecutive days over 8 hours each, to games played on weekends.
I've only responded to your question.
LICB need to an overall rework of their cricket system
Ex - there is NO cricket being played anywhere in Anguilla, not even at school level anymore

Jamaica 260/6 propped up by the young REVO Dennis Smith's 36*..
In reply to voiceofreason
he seems pretty consistent!
In reply to granite
Funny how VOR wouldn't (won't) touch the LBW thing this time around after being all over the Trini umpire during the REVOs' innings at bat.
In reply to Drapsey
Same as you wouldn't touch the fact that Dennis Smith has been saving your blushes all season.
In reply to voiceofreason
Like Thomas did for years, eh.
Forgive me though. The names Thomas and Smith are so common that it's hard to keep up with where those players are originally from.
In reply to voiceofreason
he did not play in all the games!

Wow! Jamaica is batting well. That is so good and the rearguard batsmen showing backbone.
What makes me feel better is that Jamaica has kept Jimbo from bowling them out and he has bowled 44 overs. They must be fighting hard to stop Jimbo from only taking 4 wickets. Jimbo is a class act.

Rain delay to the final day's play.
Looks like a lengthy delay. I see groundsmen picking up water with a small pan and bucket. No machinery?

224/5 Hamilton after hitting a big six off Bonner gets yorked the next ball. The opening that Jamaica needed? Remains to be seen. Jimbo Cornwall joins Warde who is on 64*.

Shouldn't they take the new ball?

Yard in the race for the title now!
Wonderful batting by Bonner and yes that commentary team...painful listening
In reply to Oilah
Jamaica played well enough and deserved this win. MAybe they should schedule most of their home games at this venue.
Bonner 66* off 48 gets them home.
In reply to hubert
Why we have to be so critical of everything ( especially after such an exciting match )
This is first class commentary , also a development ground , give the man dem a chance to develop ( just like our players ).
I wonder if this is Huber Lawrence ?
Winning runs included a no ball
Congratulations Jamaica it was evident you guys wanted it more

Congrats to Jamaica.
In reply to voiceofreason
A very UGLY win.
But the points are important.
In reply to Yadi
It would be prudent to monitor VOR and keep him under observation.
