Tennis: Monfils playing some of the best tennis in his career.

Casper 2020-02-14 20:53:58

He’s into the semi-finals of the ATP Rotterdam 500, after having won in Montpellier last week.

I agree with your assessment , It seems that he has decided to stop his normal Theatrics , and concentrate on play Tennis, rather than being a show boat . .

Apparently Svitolina has been a positive influence, and he’s had a positive influence on her as well. Her results have improved since they e been together.

She takes her training very seriously. No messing around.

Thankfully Gael is still Gael.......just a little more discipline to his game these days.

don't be fooled by Monfools....ATP 500 is a warm up tournament....

Rudeman 2020-02-15 14:36:46

Go Felix

hotarobin 2020-02-15 16:06:47

these young fellas ain't ready yet....they all too inconsistent. Super respect to Joka, Nadal and Federer for being so consistent through the years...they are really worlds apart...

Chrissy 2020-02-15 20:34:50

Should be a great final.
Will Felix win his first ATP title?

Chrissy 2020-02-15 20:35:37

Yes I know, impressive young fella but still miles away From the Jokas, Nadals and Feds of the tennis world....that was all my point was. So Monfools will win these ATP 500 and 1000 tournaments occasionally once those big three are not really in the mix or not seriously competing....

...it's not wise to waste your emotional energy on Monfools....trust me on that one! wink wink

Huh? What the hell does a haircut have to do with tennis?

Why are you singling out monfils? He is or has been a top 10 player for awhile now. Who else beats the top 3?

In reply to FuzzyWuzzy

I'm not, the thread is about Monfools, but he is a huge underachiever, has been playing for the crowds for too many years...that guy has the talent to win a slam in my opinion but I have resigned myself to accept that it's not gonna happen in this lifetime cause no matter how ready he may appear to be, he ain't ready...

FuzzyWuzzy 2020-02-17 16:43:04

In reply to hotarobin

Better players than he never won a grand slam. e.g. Ferrer. So again why pick on him?

hotarobin 2020-02-18 13:05:07

In reply to FuzzyWuzzy

again the thread is about Monfools - what about that can't you comprehend?

FuzzyWuzzy 2020-02-18 16:19:28

In reply to hotarobin

And Monfils just win 2 atp titles back to back whilst recording his tenth overall.

hotarobin 2020-02-18 18:39:12

In reply to FuzzyWuzzy

yes and my argument is.....if you were following, that Monfools will just win these kind of warm up nothing tournaments. From 2004 to present Monfools has reached only two semifinals in two majors and seven quarter finals. But normally Monfools gets ousted in the 4th rounds and earlier....all this from a guy who was the junior #1. Lots of promise, immense talent but just hasn't fulfilled his potential in my opinion. You are free to believe that he will go further, I have given up on that. I think he's mostly just a clown of a player...

FuzzyWuzzy 2020-02-18 22:07:26

In reply to hotarobin

I don't say he'll go higher but I don't like the way you are denigrating the man.

hotarobin 2020-02-18 22:15:20

In reply to FuzzyWuzzy

that's fine, my perception of him would likely not be the same if he were to take the game more seriously more often and stop constantly playing for the crowds...
