I actually meant the Yoo Ess Aaaaa.

Resorting to 'stealing' from 'less developed' nations. Wait!!! nothing new really.

I take it back.

???

Cheeks 2020-04-05 18:23:51

In reply to hotarobin

I meant how the mighty USA (Yoo Ess Aaaa) has had to resort to seizing legitimately acquired resources from a small island like Bim.

Chrissy 2020-04-05 18:34:52

In reply to Cheeks

You serious?

Cheeks 2020-04-05 18:36:58

I have some pretty reliable friends in Bim who have said so. I hope its not true.

The health minister said it at a press conference today on covid update.

sudden 2020-04-05 18:41:05

In reply to Cheeks

in a correction, the minister of health said it is not the RHI ones that are being held up or onto but another set from a private donor

nick2020 2020-04-07 19:11:37

Per Capita Barbados is worse than TnT.
The claim is there is more testing but there are also more deaths.

nick2020 2020-04-07 19:13:02

In reply to FuzzyWuzzy

And 3 on ventilators.

FuzzyWuzzy 2020-04-07 19:13:50

In reply to nick2020

Soon will be sadly 6 deaths

because we were/are lax at our borders.

nick2020 2020-04-07 19:26:10

In reply to FuzzyWuzzy

That will be the source of the fallout.

What every nation should have done was:

1. Shut off for tourists
2. Quarantine returning nationals away from general population
3. Curfew

In reply to nick2020

63 cases? Not good

nick2020 2020-04-07 20:15:29

In reply to black

For a 280K population no.

hotarobin 2020-04-07 21:33:18

In reply to nick2020

the number of cases is mostly irrelevant....it's the number of cases requiring medical care out of the total that will be a major measure of how Barbados and the other Caribbean countries are doing. Remember Covid is extremely infectious and Barbados is densely populated so it's always going to have a high number. I expected more by now to be honest but that may have more to do with lack of testing...Barbados is not doing that badly yet...

nick2020 2020-04-08 00:48:13

In reply to hotarobin

The number of cases is very relevant. Because it is a highly infectious disease and because Barbados is densely populated.

If Barbados was only at 6 cases it would make contact tracing, testing, and isolation much easier.

The more cases the larger the potential exposure to the general population and the harder it is to isolate.

Dan_De_Lyan 2020-04-08 01:09:38

In reply to nick2020

This could blowup in the coming weeks.
Bim being one of the most densely populated places in the world.

hotarobin 2020-04-08 04:02:06

In reply to nick2020

I still maintain that it's mostly irrelevant...there are likely wayyyy more who actually have the virus than these reports are showing...because they simply have not been tested....ultimately it's going to be a measurement of how the health care system that will be impacted i.e.lots of severe cases or mostly mild ones?

black 2020-04-08 04:26:45

In reply to nick2020

I think the number of infections, are very worrisome and could balloon out of control that a small Island like Barbados might not be able to control.

analyst-kid 2020-04-09 00:37:29

Barbados has recorded far more tests than their WI sister nations except for Trinidad

Barbados 655 tests 63 cases 3 deaths

Jamaica 540 tests 63 cases 4 deaths

Caymans 479 tests 45 cases 1 death

Guyana 145 tests 37 cases 6 deaths

Haiti 257 tests 27 cases 1 death

St Vincent 56 tests 8 cases 0 deaths

nick2020 2020-04-09 01:56:21

In reply to analyst-kid

So that explains the infections but not the deaths. Per capita the deaths are high.

so far there is no immunity, (if u are referring to the so called herd immunity and do not mean some people are immune all together), as it appears that one can get re infected. for the moment a vaccine is the hope

The last stance I read was if you were stuck for long enough you body can develop antibodies.

This is why the next step is to identify who has developed immunity so they can return to the work force.

Dunno.

I've been trying to find out from Bravo, why his fellow citizen, have to been quarantine again, since there were tested, quarantine in Barbados, then had to be tested in Barbados in order to leave, then to be quarantine again, since landing in T&T..
His responses are;

I don't know.. and I don't care.. they're home now..

Give it a fackin rest man...shish.. wtf..

It's a strange time and strange things will happen, what do you want ,what justice do you seek ?

What blame do you wanna assign ?

Do you seek compensation?

So different from his posting, when the citizens of T&T, could not return home.

analyst-kid 2020-04-23 14:27:26

yesterday ...one new case and one death....76 cases 6 deaths for Barbados
