Dehring worried over CWI’s financial future

JAMAICAN businessman Chris Dehring is worried over the financial future of Cricket West Indies (CWI), in light of the impending economic struggles caused by the global coronavirus pandemic.

Dehring, who was the CEO of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 (which took place in the West Indies), was speaking on the Barbados-based Mason and Guest radio show on Tuesday.

Dehring said, “I don’t know the details of Cricket West Indies’ financial structure now. They have accumulated debt. They are dependent on television rights and everything looks good on paper if you’ve signed television rights agreement.”

Fool....why he didn't talk when de big idiot was paying 30,000 US dollars for team building excercises for staff members in antigua.....not even the players.

And the less said about that tournament the better. The worst world cup in the history of the tournament's history.

I thought Shallow Skirrett was at the helm during the world cup of which you speak.

This may be the providence we all seek to replace the current structure with a modern relevant organisation.

Was quiet when Cameron wss single handedly destroying what was not destroyed by hillaire and the iguana looking president. Is just like the dude who was arguing that Pat Rousseau who had to resign in disgrace was a great president.

I am tired of these leaders in West Indies cricket, they are all clueless. The results show for the last two decades plus.

Hope for the day that insularity no longer exists and we pick the best team, irregardless of nationality. Leaders that look at the total picture and not paying back for support during elections.

Management that understand players and can motivate them with coaching that propels them to the next level and beyond. We once had that ability as the world watched in awe.

I reckon it's too much to hope for.So now I dream.

sad

Insularity will only end when some of the caribbean people stop seeing the sport as an avenue for their islands to get exposure. You see it on this site all the time, suggedting players who clearly are not up to international standard. The ladt dotish thing i read was holding's criticisms ended reon king's career. rolleyes

Is newdread not the former restaurant owner, who replaced Rawle Branker at the 2007 WC, and the CPL Operation Director?
