West Indies to pay salaries in June


Vice-president of Cricket West Indies (CWI) Dr. Kishore Shallow says that the current delay in payments to regional cricketers is one of the outstanding collections.

The international men players have not been paid their match fees for the home series against Ireland in January (three ODIs and three T20Is) and the Sri Lanka tour in February-March (three ODIs and two T20Is).

The international women are owed their match fees for the four matches they played in the T20 World Cup, played in February-March in Australia.

There is also a delay in the payment to domestic players with those who are on retainer played up to date, while the pay-for-play players are awaiting the fees that they would have expected at the end of February.

The 90 regional players fall into four categories: A, B, C, and Development.
