Dehring worried over CWI’s financial future.

Let the campaign start in earnest. The Presidency is there for the taking.

Yagga? Nah. That's not his thing.

Give him clear eyesight and put a bat in his hand and that is his strong suit.

PS. And forget the thing about grass allergy.

Yes, taking that Sabina Park wicket around with him would have helped.

But I seem to recall a triple century (302) against England in Barbados that sent Bajans into ecstasy, lining up overnight to see his second day after he had only scored 48 on day one at stumps.

INDEED all that you say is absolutely true, but the disparity between Rowe at Sabina, where his test and first class average are 113 and 69 while away from Sabina it is 35 and 30 respectively is mind boggling.

Before Rowe scored that 227 against New Zealand, I had no recollection of Rowe. I remember Morgan, Pinnock, Foster, McMorris,...but I never noticed him, although I must have seen him play

So there wasn't a blade of grass at Sabina Park in those days?

Yes, that was Lawrence Rowe's most majestic innings. However, one of his best Test innings is hardly ever mentioned. Rowe once scored 120 against England at the Queen's Park Oval. The century was special because the West Indies were bowled out for 240.
