Can Sarwan sue for defamation of character?
In reply to XDFIX
Of course he can but then everybody loses, including West Indies cricket. He has no intention to do so.
In reply to XDFIX
Gayle should sue himself for defaming his own character He damaged himself more than he damaged Sarwan.
In reply to Walco
You in sublime form recently. Would you take the case?
In reply to XDFIX
Sarwan cant get no money for suing Gayle. It would be like suing a comedian. Gayle is a clown, not to be taken seriously. No credibility, hence no damage done. Sarwan should just ignore and move on.
In reply to Logic
Didn't Samuels sue an OZ commentator for besmirching his good name?
In reply to Logic
Master Logic you better step lightly here, how dare you refer to the Universe Boss as a clown. I dare say that is tantamount to blasphemy.
In reply to NYCGURU
Gayle can sue for breach of contract!
In reply to topgear
they have to pay him since they did not agree to his pay cut! Probably only the difference between his new pay and the contract.
In reply to XDFIX
sarwan should sue him. gayle call sarwan immature but i think gayle is the one who is immature.
sarwan is a family man with 3 kids.
gayle still drinking heineken in bars on a daily basis. gayle is still the immature party man while sarwan has move on to start a family.

The ignorance on this mb is terrible. At least make informed comments please.
In reply to Jeremy
You soon tell us Gayle is the typical black Jamaican thug who party nuff and doh tek care of him kids. Yu fellow Guyanese done lashing out at di election results with the same notions.
Tell us how YOU really feel as well.
In reply to JahJah
i have a issue with gayle calling sarwan immature. gayle blabber his mouth off all the time come across as the immature one.
In reply to Trex
Laughable sah.
Chris blundered here big time though, he has allowed Sarwan to walk away unscathed by taking the high road. Some things you just don't
do as a professional. Jeff Miller and management seemingly lied to him and handled his departure deceitfully, yet he unleashed on
Sarwan publicly without evidence of his involvement.
gayle is a little child, a little cry baby. gayle double cross sarwan and make him get kicked out of west indies.
sarwan follow gayle antics to try and give west indies board a challange during contract negotiation but sarwan was kicked out while gayle retain a contract.
dinanath ramnarine was representing them vs west indies cricket board. gayle is the real snake.
gayle did not stand up for sarwan when he was not offered a contract extension.
sarwan take the bull by the horn and sue west indies cricket board and won his case. sarwan was kicked out because of this race.
In reply to XDFIX
Sarwan and Gayle are so different, I wonder how they remain(ed) friends all these years.
Sarwan, on one hand was such a talented batsman, from the onset he had greatness at his fingertips but somehow couldn't accomplish. An underachiever in the end.
Gayle, on the other hand was just a leadfooted cowlasher who no one expected to last more than a couple of seasons until he was displaced by someone more naturally talented. An overachiever in the end.
Now, which of the two would you call a success? While I still harbor lots of respect for the underachieving Sarwan, I must say that the overachieving Gayle is more the success in the true sense of the word.
gayle have more success because of his T20 stats and longer career.
In reply to Jeremy
Ok, Jeremy, let's put T20 aside for this (non)debate.
Tests: Both Sarwan and Gayle ended their careers with 15 test tons; Sarwan 31 50s, Gayle 37; Sarwan avg 40.01, Gayle 42.18; Sarwan 0 triple tons, Gayle 2; Sarwan 2 double tons, Gayle 1.
ODIs: Sarwan has 5 tons, Gayle 25 (the WI record).
Just a note that Gayle's double triple placed him in the exclusive club alongside the greats BCLara, Don Bradman, and Virender Sehwag.
Let's stop here, please.
Do you have an argument, Jeremy?
In reply to Drapsey
After those facts you can just
drap sey mike.
In reply to Drapsey
I just read your piece on Gayle and Sarwan and I felt you stole my thoughts. I have used those exact descriptions, underachiever and overachiever to describe the two. I remember when Onry scored 2 centuries in South Africa I vowed then not to ever underestimate him again.
In reply to Drapsey
Gayle's first triple century was 317 against SA and he ended up with less than 350 for the entire series. if that was spread out over the series WI may have drawn a couple of matches
In reply to sudden
Do the same for Lara's 400.
In reply to Dukes
i am saying they dont amount to a hill of beans if they are not meaningful in the scheme of things. if that is what you are saying we are in agreement
In reply to sudden
On the internet everybody's opinion carries equal weight.Knowledge is unnecessary and many times burdensome.
BTW Do you remember the time Colin Croft almost topped the batting averages in a series?
In reply to sudden
I'd be willing to discount that 317 at the ARG, the kids' sized playground. But that would cast a shadow on BCL's record scores at the same venue.
We can't have that.
In reply to Dukes
Just want you to know, Dukes, that I'm not in the least bit a Sarwan hater. To the contrary, actually.
I wish my above post could've been read by Jeremy only.
In reply to Dukes
Didn't Croft actually once top the batting average in a series against Pakistan?
In reply to Drapsey
You have to overweight Gayle's 42 avg as an opener.
In reply to Larr Pullo
Even more ammunition to bolster his case if not cause.
In reply to jacksprat and Dukes
Didn't Croft actually once top the batting average in a series against Pakistan?
That came up as a trivia question recently.
But for completeness - Greenidge beat him by a fraction of a point.
In that series vs Pak in 1977
Averages were
Greenidge - 53.6
Croft - 53.0
In reply to Drapsey
The capitalist would say Gayle by a country mile!
In reply to XDFIX
Gayle is VERY SUCCESSFUL BUT VERY UNHAPPY.
What is the point then???
In reply to Dukes
maybe he has huge ambitions!
In reply to XDFIX
Sarwan is being the much bigger man here..If it were me, I would or find some way to get proper closure.
Gayle was so wrong here with this public and personal assault.
In reply to hubert
Agreed. Gayle's outburst was childish to say the least. Lessons in humility are needed.
In the meantime on this Sarwan matter, I have always found Jamaicans and Guyanese to get on very well. Indeed, the Guyanese Lorry Alexander who you knew was my bestman!
As captain and president of my cricket club here, I found no difference. Guyanese work well with Jamaicans and vice-versa.
And so do people from Antigua, Montserrat, St. Vincent, St. Kitts, and Tobago. Indeed, one Trinidadian High Commissioner told us that "We came on the same ship."
He was Tobagonian!

"Do you remember the time Colin Croft almost topped the batting averages in a series?"
Back in the late 1990's a radio show here in Toronto had Lloyd, Croft and someone else... I forgot who. They were teasing Croft about how he batted a whole session for 2 runs.
He wouldn't win.
Gayle lawyers rule that he is insane due to this COVID-19 thing.
In reply to Ewart
Somehow, there is always a rift between Trini and Yardies - UWI days Canada Hall is telling, so too Mona to a lesser extent!
Both trying to be the bad john in town!
In reply to hubert
Does proper closure mean go b4 the court?
I am tempted to say that should be the way forward for Sarwan or else other cricketers from the region may take it as a sport to pull a YouTube score!
In reply to XDFIX
That must or should be on the table. It is a sorry tale.
As Ewart pointed out,Jamaicans and Guyanese have a history of good relationship.
