Atheists, are viruses alive? How did they evolve?

Barry 2020-05-07 01:06:18

First seen as poisons, then as life-forms, then biological chemicals, viruses today are thought of as being in a gray area between living and nonliving: they cannot replicate on their own but can do so in truly living cells and can also affect the behavior of their hosts profoundly. The categorization of viruses as nonliving during much of the modern era of biological science has had an unintended consequence: it has led most researchers to ignore viruses in the study of evolution

Viruses are more of a problem for atheists than theists

I tried to explain this to black but his lack of college education makes it difficult for him... he seems more interested in old posters...what a hypocrite... rolleyes

Nevertheless, most evolutionary biologists hold that because viruses are not alive, they are unworthy of serious consideration when trying to understand evolution. They also look on viruses as coming from host genes that somehow escaped the host and acquired a protein coat. In this view, viruses are fugitive host genes that have degenerated into parasites. And with viruses thus dismissed from the web of life, important contributions they may have made to the origin of species and the maintenance of life may go unrecognized

And that college educated brain of yours is willing to accept some bullshit story by stupid goat herders from 2,500 years ago.

A true story inspired by the Creator... you accept the story of Richard Leakey, son of missionaries... rolleyes

Consider the recent fall from grace of Richard Leakey, the man who traced the evolution of humanity in Africa

Leakey has disregarded our human rights and upheld the rights of animals to kill us," Ntimama thundered in the Kenyan media. On January 7, 25 county council leaders--most of them dependent on Ntimama for political and financial backing--attacked Leakey in chorus on unspecified charges of "racism, arrogance, and corruption

Folks Black is a fool- he has you following racist...he does not know it

So Black accepted the story of a white man (Son of missionaries) who allegedly killed his people but denies the stories of goat herders, some who look like him big grin

Atheists, are viruses alive? How did they evolve?

A creationist's usage of the word 'evolve' (in this context) appears so convenient.

Shouldn't we be asking how said viruses were 'created'?

I am formally trained in evolutionary theory. Indeed I believe that Black evolved. Additionally I believe in microspeciation as my teachers call it. It is a fundamental idea in biology. Finally there are some theists and agnostics who combine creation with traditional evolution. My late friend was taught by the person who theorized on punctuated equilibrium... cool

Although the patterns predicted by punctuated equilibrium have been observed in at least some cases, debate continues over how frequently this model of evolutionary change occurs -- is it the norm, or only an exception? Punctuated equilibrium also generates interesting questions for further research. What, for example, are the processes that produce rapid evolution? Population genetic studies show us that small changes can accrue quickly in small populations. And evolutionary developmental biology is revealing new mechanisms that regulate the expression of small genetic changes in ways that can have a large effect on phenotype. Which evolutionary factors are primarily responsible for the periods of stasis -- in which lineages persist without change -- that can be observed in the fossil record? In seeking the answers to these questions, researchers will continue to advance our understanding of the evolutionary processes that produced the remarkable variety of life on Earth.

Evolutionary theory is a vague conundrum of conflicting theories and missing evidence. It makes the Bible look quite good razz
