In 2020 Trump supporters are more emboldened and more brazen in their support for Trump. Trump has managed to reawaken the seemingly dormant racist traits in the hearts of men that many naive fools (like me) thought was slowing being extinguished.
Trump made is ok for Nazis and Confederates to have public rallies and protests and even called them “good people”, thereby making it ok to be openly racist again. The things that Trump is “normalizing”, not only in America but worldwide, will make for a less tolerable world and we will witness increases in racial and religious conflicts.
When Trump announced intended persecution of Muslims in 2016, immediately the evangelicals abandoned their morals and decency and in their minds anointed Trump the equivalent of King Arthur. His known dislike for Blacks was the icing on the cake for those “religious” ones. Attempting to wipe the legacy of President Obama from the minds of America and the world has nothing to do with party affiliation. It has to do with sanitizing the history of America of the memory that descendant of slaves once occupied the highest office of the land. It burned Trump’s dark soul that descendants of slaves could one day become Massa.
The world has changed since 2016 and not for the better. Racists are bolder and more united now. Hate crimes have skyrocketed. Everyone is openly taking a side. The polls are more accurate now than they were in 2016.
