For some reason in these Corona times I've gravitated to watching Westerns. They don't have to be great or well known (they are plenty) I just find them relaxing. Watched one of the many that had Django as part of the title. Watched one with the character Sartana and last night saw "Hannie Caulder" which is why I'm even on this topic. Hannie Caulder 1972 stars a young Raquel Welch. Nuh lie dat woman had fineness in abundance...mercy

Which channel, I also start watching the series like gunsmoke .
Plenty of decent Westerns out there, even for free. I find their simplicity and optimism to be relaxing - good guy vs bad guy, good guy always wins, etc. Obvious prejudice (good guy is a white American and bad guys are native people and Mexicans), could be odious at times, tho.
Check out the Westerns on Netflix. Lots of free Westerns on Pluto TV. Set up an inexpensive antenna and watch free HD TV channels, including some channels that show nothing but Westerns all day!
I have over 200 Westerns on my hard drive, some dating back to the 1930's.
Some amazing actors in these movies.
If BeatdeBalls doh weigh in on Westerns den someting amiss

I've never been a movies person but Spaghetti Westerns in particular do hold my fancy. Did I say Lee Van Cleef!? LOL. (Clint was always a distant second for me.)
I have been catching up on old boxing too; started out with Muhammad Ali and now segued into the Larry Holmes and Ray Leonard era.
The upside of Covid-19, no?

I maintain that instead of Eli Wallach playing the part of the Ugly in the Good The Bad and The Ugly trio, Lee Van Cleef should've. He's a natural.
In reply to Drapsey
I agree Lee Van Cleef should be de ugly and Eli should be de funny...The Good the Funny and the Ugly

How about that prison camp scene in The Good The Bad and The Ugly?
That has to be the saddest piece of music ever played. The music director, Ennio Morricone, is simply the best.
Edited.
A fist full of dollars
A few dollars more
The good bad and the ugly

Remember The Untouchables intro
Music and visuals...*chills*
What a facting travesty that this absolute legend had to wait until the The Hateful Eight to win a competitive Academy Award...50 frigging years after For A Few Dollars More.
In reply to Drapsey
For sure.It tells a story on its own.Morricone was top notch.
In reply to Jumpstart
Enjoyed that tremendously. Taped it and watch it repeatedly. A film of many parts..Chief Joseph made it fun too.
Once Upon A Time In The West and Unforgiven are my present favorites. High Plains Drifter is also up there for me but hardly gets mentioned when folks start talking about the best westerns.

Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston and a few other big movie stars were indeed serious rightwing nuts, but they were good actors.
After a while, you learn to separate these things and move on.

Thought he did. Good he still with us. Tks

Heston was even NRA hawk. But separating their political beliefs to their screen deeds is a must. Fine acting role
is welcomed at all times .
In reply to Barry Don't judge a man by his looks - could be fatal!
In reply to Norm
As a youngster The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur were my favorite films totally enthralled.Big Eastwood fan and after finding out about their politics I still love their movies. Artists, musicians, sports stars are flawed human beings like us all so we better be able to separate achievements from character.
In reply to Barry
Love this movie

There was also a comedic spaghetti western named Man of the East, starring Terrence Hill (real name Mario Girotti). It was really a spoof of the earlier Gary Cooper movie, Man of the West.
It was ridiculously funny.

More comedy- rustlers rhapsody
