I thought he would live forever. He was an original.

For his music he must be honored and remembered. In other aspects of his life he was somewhat confused as to where he really stood.

Obituary: Little Richard, a flamboyant pioneer.

RIP Little One.

Very few R&B artist that had a music career would be around if Little Richard, Otis Redding, James Brown et al. did not grace the 50,60 onward.

Little Richard was as flamboyant and eccentric as the come, but his contribution and talent is singular and monumental. Dubbed the "The Innovator, The Originator, and The Architect of Rock and Roll" by the industry, his early style and stage presence was the forerunner to the likes of Michael J, Prince and even Elvis sited him as a major influence.

He shattered color lines in music and paved the way for modern rock and roll and r&b.

Sorry I missed this (and many threads) recently.

Sidenote: Macon Ga, a small(ish) town south of ATL on I75, gave us many legendary artist including Little R, Otis and the band R.E.M.

If you love music, another legend has left us!
