One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain...

Bob Marley's legacy lives on!

I was in the coffee room in the Faculty of Social Sciences - the radio suddenly started playing Bob.

In those days the radio station would playing a sireen type alert whenever there was tragic breaking news like a plane crash. We all gathered around the radio when we heard the alert. Was just speaking to my brother who was 4 years old at the time and even he remembers that day.

Where were you?

In Port Royal whenever a member of the community dies the church bells ring.

That custom is not unique to Port Royal. In most Jamaican communities the bell of a church of which the decease was a member will be tolled, not rang, to announce that one of its members has died.
