??????????????????? or simply too fast for Australians back then and they fought to get rid of him?

Was Lawson really a chucker?
In reply to solidrock
He was a chucked, very obvious. This was identified from u19 days by Tony Cozier and others who got cussed out.
When he tried to bowl he was medium pace.
In reply to solidrock
One of the best chuckers we ever had if Lawson had a long career he would have been one of the best we ever had.

Yardies like to spin more than Lance.
I witnessed it first hand, yes he is!
Lawson wasn't a chucker. He was a flinger. I recall seeing him in 2003 or thereabouts flinging at Lara etal at Discovery Bay in St. Ann. He had Lara hopping all over the place.
In reply to solidrock
Yes, but he was not in Bumrah's category.

That guy was a brutal bowler.Surely had a iffy action...Not sure if he chucked all the deliveries..Only the effort balls.I still remember that series and the match against BD...Real sight that..
I never saw Gilcrist (only older one's persons can help me on this tread). Some suggest that Gilcrist was "also a chucker." If so were Gilchrist and Lawson in the same league?
In reply to solidrock
Lawson didn't just chuck a few or fling....he was a pelter.
When he didn't pelt he bowled at the same pace as Bravo.

WOW.
Is that Lawson I see with bus marks on his back???
In reply to solidrock
He was. But he was never as bad as shoaib and brett lee.

Shoaib was the worse though
Yes Lawson chucked and Bumrah flings but hes still playing internation cricket tho

Politics man.
I remember some clown on this website(in a previous conversation)said it was hyperextension. The idiot didn't know what hyperextension was. RP Singh had hyper extension, but from the naked eye you could tell his flex did not exceed 15 degrees....shoaib and bumrah AND lee were chuckers. But pakistan threatened to boycott all international tournaments if shoaib was called, and prior to the IPL, the then ACB was the most powerful board. And well now the bcci is the most powerful board
remember they changed the tolerance level after Lawson, if he was around today he would be legal.
In reply to pooranian
maybe he and Charlie Griffith could not stand up to slow motion camera.
Lawson was one of the most blatant fast bowling flingers that I have seen.
In reply to TyTy35
Bumrah is the same

No. Not de same. Lawson was a mango pelter.
Lawson was very ordinary when he tried to correct his action.
He does have a test HATRICK in the books though!
and when he let it go with his kinked elbow - he really let it fly. I saw him getting top edged over thirdman for six.

Not even close.
Yes, he was a chucker. Watch his action, there is no way to get his hand from the position its in (behind shoulders) when his back foot lands, to release point without chucking.
PS. Worst was Shaun Tait, basically a pitcher with a run up.
In reply to Dukes
I have been calling out Lawson for pelting since the late 90's when he played high school cricket.
Lawson must have been his false name. That fella was definitely bowling outside the laws of cricket. Made Murali and Bumrah look like saints.
