A lot of you speak with great affection for Russia, China and Cuba but one thing you're not ready to let go of is, freedom.

If you're not willing to live there, they are not that great.

No? Then let's conclude that it is not great to live in those countries too, or that they have no freedom.

I have said repeatedly here that Democratic supporters are just as brainwashed as Republicans. For you, if it is not run by white Americans, or white Brits, or their spawn, then it cannot be "freedom" or "great".

My point is that there are many places where many of us would not care to live, even if they were democratic or had "freedom", as understood in the US. Russia and China also have plenty of immigrants, migrant workers, etc. Not to mention, China has about 1.2 billion people, which is more than 4 times the US population. Thus, per your argument, China would be 4 times a better place to live in than the US!

It is not that simple. The US has done a wonderful brainwashing job, on its own population and even others, that it is God's gift to mankind.

BTW, I chose to study in Communist Russia after high school, to see communism and Russia (the Soviet Union back then) for myself. I was very happy to leave after spending 6 years there, to return to Guyana. The politics was not great, IMO. Despite that, there were significant numbers of foreigners from developed countries living there. Many were communist sympathizers, but others were trade unionists, students, businessmen, etc. There were many from communist countries too, and they far outnumbered the westerners and people from non-aligned countries. They included mostly workers and students.

So, the question is not simple. Both Russia and China have significant issues with immigrants and foreign residents, as we saw in the case involving anti-African discrimination recently in China. I would not be surprised if both counties each have more immigrants and foreign residents than the US, even if the US included all its illegal immigrants.

Hmm, still the same as ever. Don't you think those communist countries have laws too, and that the people there could do whatever they want, within the law? Oh, I know you will now get into a frenzy about US personal freedoms, etc.

So, feel free to shout out the virtues of exploitation, while China makes it possible for you survive on whatever earnings you have left, after rent, medical insurance, car payments, car insurance, etc, etc. Better yet, join the call to punish China!

BTW, I went to Russia on a Guyana government scholarship, returned home and fulfilled my contract with the Guyana government. Ultimately, I am glad I went to Russia, so that jackasses like you who bray all day cannot even come close to telling me how great the left or right is.
