Young’s exemption order had Venezuela VP’s team info

Two days after National Security Minister Stuart Young denied knowing beforehand the identities of the six-member delegation that accompanied Venezuela’s Vice-President Delcy Rodriguez on her March 27 trip to T&T, a document has surfaced online purportedly showing the exemption order he granted for them to enter the country.

During the conference, Rowley also labelled Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar “a traitor” and accused her of conspiring to get the United States to sanction T&T over the Paria deal.

Comments T&T Guardian

Mark

So tell me if anyone of you commenters did not know this this was a lie from the beginning? Tell me if you did not know that ALL politicians LIE? You would have to be rather naive or very stupid to believe otherwise. They all lie to the population do, don't make this out to be something new, or rather spectacular, they all lie. But I guess for us to be making the same mistakes every five years, would mean we believe their lies. Hmmm!!

Just as I said NOBODY knows anything and they are ALL pointing fingers at one another in an attempt to cover their asses!.
He said, “That is a matter for Civil Aviation department once we gave the approval for the visit to take place. Matters relating to equipment is a matter for Civil Aviation. And as far as I am aware, I know nothing nor did anybody in my delegation know anything about any particular aircraft. We now discovering this.”

However, director general of the T&T Civil Aviation Authority Francis Regis subsequently denied that monitoring sanctions and embargo assets were part of the body’s mandate. Regis said questions on who was responsible for a sanctioned plane landing in the country needed to be directed to National Security.
So the PM met with "people" he did not know and he met with them to discuss?? well he said they did not tell him what they wanted to meet him to discuss? And this is how Rowley and his cronies are running the country!

T&T Guardian Editorial

A need for transparency

The emergence yesterday of a document that purports to show that Minister of National Security Stuart Young gave an exemption for Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodríguez’s delegation to enter Trinidad and Tobago is deeply disturbing if it is proven to be true.

The statement was posted in the Prime Minister’s social media, less than an hour ago.

The full statement, follows…

STATEMENT FROM PRIME MINISTER DR KEITH ROWLEY

To the People of TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO,

Contrary to what has been published in today’s Guardian Editorial, I once again must confirm that, notwithstanding any list of names of passengers on any manifest or aircraft, the only persons from Venezuela, who attended a meeting with the Prime Minister, Minister of National Security and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Diplomatic Centre in March 2020, were Vice President Delcy Rodriguez accompanied by one other person Mr Chavez, who was not the President of PDVSA at that time.

None of the other persons (security or other officials) who accompanied Mrs Rodriguez conducted any meeting with any official/s of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.

On the basis of these indisputable facts, today, I reject being called a liar by the Guardian newspaper in furtherance of their interests.
