Memories: we got hammered sad

Memories: An Imran Khan offcutter thay turned more sharply than a spinning ball to castle Viswanath, who had shouldered arms, it had pitched so far outside off. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ball like that. It should be on YouTube.

Wadekar brought the Indians to The West Indies in 1971. It was great to see greats like Sobers, Kanhai & Gibbs and for India there was Gavaskar & Venkataraghavan.

1995- the worst possible time man. Never got 5o see the the glory years live. Was only four when we lost it. Was 9 when lara and the Wambrose bloke drew with australia. Too date, the best series i have ever watched. India vs australia comes a very close second. In hoth series, the umpiring was of world class quality slthough the debatable and outright wrong decisions never went in favor of the WI or india. Eddie Niccols umpiring during the australia series was fantastic

1987.

Saw Viv and Holding play at Sabina Park.

Saw Miller, Adams and Perry debut.

Met Holding about a year or 2 after, he was promoting Playing Cricket the West Indies Way and I got a signed copy and a half an hour of chit chat.

About a decade later my former boss invited me to Peppers and we hung out with Holding for a couple hours. Man love horse racing.

That was the tour when Pak spectators ran on the field and try to attack Gavaskar with sticks?
