STATEMENT FROM THE MOST HON. P. J. PATTERSON CHAIRMAN, CPL TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE

On May 6th, the CPL Tournament Committee received a formal complaint from the CPL alleging breaches of its Tournament Rules & Regulations by Mr. Chris Gayle, arising from a series of videos that he had posted to his personal YouTube channel on April 27th.

Having circulated the complaint, the CTC unanimously decided that it satisfied the prima facie test. In accordance with its Disciplinary Powers, it authorized the establishment of an independent three (3) member Tribunal to hear the matter.

Notwithstanding, intense efforts were made to settle the charges for the benefit of CWI, CPL and Mr. Gayle, before empanelling its members.

People make a big deal out of nothing.

It was clear CG was hurt by not having the chance to finish his career with the Tallawahs and so he blew off some steam. If I was his advisor, would I advise him to do what he did, no, because there was nothing for him to gain by exposing his thoughts the way he did. Am I surprised he did what he did, no. Granted it's puzzling that he gave the owner a pass.

Different thought, a lot of you always prying to hear what's going on and now unnu get it, unnu cyan handle it.

Matter closed. CG to Australia, if there is a to Australia.

Your comment went over my head. Trump is a 70+ year old vulgar, lying, racist, narcissist who thinks self 100% of the time. CG is only a narcissist.

An apology to Sarwan was missing in the Gayle statement. Perhaps Mr Gayle is too big to be humble?

That opening walked right into that one

Gayle's age and last year's performance, disqualify him for thinking he is the World boss.
I am not a fan of T20 cricket, but I follow a number of team sports, one only have to look at TOM BRADY leaving the Patriots, to understand management and veterans players.
King James is doing it his way.

Is it Sparrow or is it Mark Twain?
lol lol lol lol lol

I was just being realistic and looking at 3 parameters
1.His last twenty T 20 innings
2. His mobility in terms of running ones and twos
3. His mobility in the field

I also looked speculatively at how Gayle deals with wrist spinners and felt that he might struggle. Please note that several teams will be investing in wrist spinners such as Pakistan,India,Sri Lanka,Bangladesh,Afghanistan,South Africa and even Australia.

No need for the CC.com lawyers to continue debating

Gayle is a boss and has again outsmarted the smart men
Let the UniBoss be. He is harmless and soon retired.

PJ and company were clearly born yesterday according to you.

The CTC,CPL and CWI wanted this matter quickly resolved.

When the Jamaica Tallawahs take the field we will see what the damage is.

My view is that the damage will be immense unless there is JAMAICAN OWNERSHIP with JAMAICAN or INTERNATIONAL COACHES.That would be the legacy of Chris Gayle.

Halliwell 2020-05-16 19:20:03

In reply to Dukes

But surely you know that a legacy is what the people think of you

And if the Jamaican people think THEY must abandon the current Tallawahs then what indeed is the legacy...still positive nuh?

Oldster You are like one of those parents who swear their son is an angel only to find out he was a gangster, murder, cop killer and thief rolled up in one.

You really don't think Sarwan deserves some kind of blame in all of this?
