Bezos controls 51 % + of the voting shares.

His ownership share total is only 11%, (controls his ex wife voting shares). Shareholders agreements and he can do what he wants.

Front line workers can be replaced.

I have a heart so I do not agree with Amazon, BUT, if you live in a capitalist system and you work for a public company, you have a responsibility to maximize shareholders' value. You do not have a responsibility to assist the general populace with employment.

That simple! It's tough but that's the reality. And BTW, the people implementing these oppressive policies are people like sudden and doosra, i.e., smart, nuff education and putting their smarts to benefit the "man".

How do you maximize shareholders value without workers or a satisfied workforce to either make or assemble the products or get them to market. It isn’t like 2% is going to dilute substantially shareholder value. This is simple greed that is seen as the American dream and therefore admired

That's not a good question. Yes you need people, but because they are in abundance, you may abuse them and they will still return. Years ago there were more workers in Amazon sweatshops but Amazon has replaced a lot of them with robots. You get the drift?

Either you are maximizing shareholders' value or you are not and if you are not that's grounds for dismissal.

To be clear, if it was my company, I would show a bit more heart, but that's not what this is about. Capitalism can be heartless.
