We already have Ambris, Hamilton, Dowrich, and Hope as Wicket-keeper batsmen in the squad, all with test experience, so where is the room for Pooran?

Pooran is Indo and doesn't need money all Indian rich, who they does rob in TT,he also has a good education and IPL,BPL,PPLand Big Bash beckons. If the selectors drop KP coz they think he got nuff money, maybe that is how they are thinking.Pooran must be brave and tell them to go fuck themselves, just like the rest, why you want to play cricket with a team that cannot beat anybody.

Pooran is one of the most promising youngsters in West Indies cricket

I think you would've had a more solid complaint if you had pointed out the fact that apart from the Guyanese Veerasammy Permaul, all squad members look curiously alike.

Compliments of the Shallow Skirrett era?

Although that criteria was never openly said it has gone on for a long, long time. Some good cricketers never made it because of their well to do background, you know that it's true.

I ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU HAD to play FC cricket to be eligible for a Test pick.

I ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU HAD to play FC cricket to be eligible for a Test pick.

Since the advent of LO cricket and in particular, T20 cricket, How has that policy worked out for us in terms of results and performance?

Now if your goal is to simply get representation on the WI test team....I guess it would be "mission accomplished" for some.

I found the interviewer particularly lacking in posing follow up and in depth questions

Now...the forum is on instagram so it was pretty informal.

Still....when Pooran said he was interested in playing test cricket and the reason he hasn't up till now was because his body wasn't upto the rigors of 5 day cricket and he just started playing cricket....the follow up question would be...something along the lines of this:

CWI has a policy of requiring a player to playing and performing in domestic 4 day cricket to be eligible for the test team. Is that something you're willing to do?

Depending on the answer.....you could follow that up with "why didn't you play this season?"

When Pooran talked bout his injury and coming back from that....the interviewer could have touched on what it was like. Who did he turn to? Who helped him etc.

There's a way to keep that informal....while still asking pertinent questions.

That said....It's quite possible that the interviewer is also young in the game and will learn as he goes along.
