A country that predominantly votes based on race cannot be democratic. It just cannot happen, so stop floating that balloon. It's a fallacy.

No party in Guyana can win on race alone with no ethnic majority so that is another fallacy of yours.
Apnu/Afc did not in 2015 and cannot in 2020 also the PPP/C

Relax, Jeremy! We don't want anybody invading Guyana. You're coming across as ultra hardline. Be careful you don't become the same thing you despise.

Now who don't vote race???????????????

Black Americans vote race, generally! They look at the party that has the most black people in the leadership and vote for them. White Americans do that too.

I am not going to go through the entire world but wherever different races or tribes or religions in one country are vying for power people will, for the most part, vote for their own.

I was watching a docu about a mini civil war in the Solomon Islands and to me these people look the same. Yet between themselves they apparently know they are different.

Can anyone of us tell the difference between a Hutu and a Tutsi? They vote race.

Black South Africans vote race! You might say that is only natural given their history. Well so with Guyanese Indians. Given our history with the dictator Burnham it is natural for us to vote race.

But here is the kicker! Guyanese blacks should be absolutely the last people to tell anyone about race voting. Imagine, after the mostly black party, the PNC, in 28 years brought Guyana to its knees and had it wallowing in poverty, in 1992, the first free and fair elections since 1968 the blacks still voted, almost to a man, for the same PNC! They didn't say to give the Indian, Dr Jagan a chance, knowing that he was cheated out of the presidency for 28 years.

Now let's come to this issue of having outsiders to observe our elections. When you can't get your house right then expect outsiders to be coming in soon.

If you and your wife are having problems, expect outsiders, in time, to be in your affairs. Whether they be family members or therapists or social services or the courts.

When you can't take care of your health expect outsiders in time. Whether they be doctors, relatives, the govt, or undertakers.

If you can't pay your bills then expect outsiders to come a'calling.

If you rig elections expect outsiders to come knocking sooner or later.

I won't go into more examples. In other words, if you can't get you shit together then others will be soon be knocking at your door.

I won't go into this more comprehensively cause nothing I say will change anyone's mind.

Many times I don't revisit a thread that I have commented on so if someone replies to me and I don't reply back please don't think me rude. I wish that the website gave an alert when someone replies to my post but it doesn't. This website looks like it came out when the internet came out..and then got left behind smile

And given Afro Guyanese's experience with the last Jagdeo administration you understand why there is no trust in another PPP administration where Jagdeo is still the principal right? And therein lies the impasse. So either we start trusting each other, and stop listening to outsiders who promote "democracy" when they themselves don't adhere to it, or come up with a workable governing solution that speaks to the unique circumstances of our country.

Else, partition the damn thing and stop the stupid unending fighting!

Black Americans aren't always (actually rarely) given a black option.

GT is always black Vs Indo

Actually, given yr scenario above, it looks like I'm the only one who don't vote race. I vote for the person I think could best represent me. e.g, in one of our elections here, I only voted for city counsel. Even though they had mayor etc to vote for.
Ppl should start voting for responsible representatives who can serve them best...and when they fail, U should be able to ask, U fail me the last time, Y should I vote for U again.

Who is gonna trust dictators??

People who locking up little indo girls for over 2 months now, due to coronavirus suspicions, and have no kits to test said child?? You talking about trust?? I bet they would never treat an Afro child so insensitively, either out of bias or fear of the GT posse.

Else, partition the damn thing and stop the stupid unending fighting!

Let me guess, you want your people to get the oil section right??

This sh!t is about naked greed and bullism

Jagdeo administration did great for guyana. They give guyana tv channels, internet and phones. they built hospitals, hotels, malls, bridges, university, stadium etc.

they give lights to villages like black bush and other villages. they built new roads.

what did burnhan era did beside banking all the money in swiss bank. burnham shipped out sugar, rice and bauxite but bring back empty containers because the wanted to bank the money in his swill account.

people live way better under the ppp administration.

Yuh see why Guyana getting oil is a bad thing. Biafra waiting to happen. Too much of a valuable resource for a country with weak institutions and a resevoir of ethnic tension
