Some madda woman was there in the 1950s-1960s, and another in Green Is. I recall people taking trips to go see them for ailments, including spells. Oh man, the time that was!

But where did they do the rafting, on the Great River?

In reply to Camos
Nah, he means Lambs River, Westmoreland. So far as I remember it's up in the Dolphin Head range near the border with Hanover (shouldn't be too far from Ramble-Alexandria-Knockalva).

Imagine, I'm from eastern Hanover and had to look up Lethe just now; I couldn't remember it at all. It has just jumped into my Top-3 Chart now for my next trip.

Article on Lethe (And BTW, I know Joan Williams).

Chukka Caribbean Adventures in Lethe.

Chukka sponsors rafting up stream from the mouth of the Great River at the border of Hanover and St. James. I don't know if they sponsor rafting from Lethe. lethe is a very rustic district -somewhat close to Anchovy. Make A right turn off the Long Hill road before coming into Anchovy. Rafting is done down stream from Lethe In the mid 80s, Ruseas use to practice football in Lethe. That was about when Ruseas and Hanover Secondary combined and they did not have a playing field. Story goes that some ganja bretherin provided an excellent playing field in lethe for the Ruseas ballers to practice. It was about the same time when Ruseas home games were being played at Jarrett Park.

I went to Lethe once. I met with some Germans who were producing honey at the old milk factory in Montpelier and we took a trip to Lethe. Nice community, friendly people.

Yep! was sort of surprise to see the place,we went from Knockalva, Cops sort of stood out , because as a youth back in Trelawny a few boys were sent there.

Never been there even though I've driven the B8 route a few times when I lived in Ja. It's definitely happening next time though.

I messaged Joan Williams last night and she had only great things to tell about the place and people.
