Suriname Election so Far.

tops 2020-05-26 08:25:33

Looks as if they know to count.
36 out of 51 seats decided. VHP 21 NDP 15.
Where is Mingo. big grin big grin

Norm 2020-05-26 09:36:08

Suriname elections will probably be done, dusted and counted in a day or two!

The reaction of the government and people of Guyana to that will be interesting.

Mingo's algorithm:

IF APNU < PPP THEN
APNU = APNU + 100
PPP = PPP - 100
IF PPP < 0 THEN PPP = 4
END IF

Ah see they went counting the ballots live all.. these jokers at GECOM on the other hand seh thats illegal lol

jacksparrow 2020-05-26 13:12:34

Congratz to the people of Suriname for getting rid of those incompetent barefaced liars. It will be a long road back but you got to start somewhere.

Runs 2020-05-26 13:14:25

They have lots to deal with especially a possible default on their 700m debt repayment.

jacksparrow 2020-05-26 13:21:30

oh it will be a lot more than that below the surface. When the NDP came into power about 10 years ago, the exchange was around 3 srd to 1 usd. Today its above 20, probably artificially held there.

I hear Boutras asking for recount. razz

jacksparrow 2020-05-26 14:38:55

It's really a stark difference to Guyana Elections though, GECOM should be ashamed.
But lemme ask- has there been any similar scenarios like Guyana in the Caribbean or anywhere else?

tops 2020-05-26 14:49:25

In reply to jacksparrow
Guyana is in its own category.
I'm hearing there is no declaration of the final result, but Boutras is asking for a recount.

jacksparrow 2020-05-26 14:58:05

In reply to tops
I think they are still counting and I have not heard of NDP asking for a recount although it would not beyond them to do that.
Guyana is in their own category lol

Nah, but I have friends there I'm getting info from. The last I hear they were fighting over the counting.

Runs 2020-05-26 15:55:01

Banas nuff overseas Guyanese are still eligible to vote, 750k is the local population and the total including the diaspora is closer to 1.3 m . When you post untruths please know your audience. cool
I would hoist up n lick u down everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. lol
So 660k is not incredible.

tops 2020-05-26 16:47:31

Latest is NDP is pulling an APNU/AFC. they got 15 seats so far and fighting for 17. Results R still not in.
Lots of rumours flying around as usual.

The list is bloated
Everyone knows it, elections should never had occurred with that list.

O shocks
redface
I hear they doing a recount...And then they have to go to voting court of justice. Don't ask me what that is, I haven't a clue. razz

Can we now get the Suriname Elections officials to skip across to Guyana and show them how it's done? smile

"A list of 660,000 from a population of 750,000 is a recipe for chaos"

It is not a population of 750,000 for voting purposes. Thousands of Guyanese from the over a million living overseas are registered to vote. And that is completely lawful. Those are within the 660,000.

"Looks like VHP won."
lol If it was only that easy. U C, even though VHP won, they have to get 31 seats or some silliness b4 they can form the next government. They will have to form an alliance with the other parties.
big grin

anansi 2020-05-27 02:40:02

Oh, I got it Einstein.
Thousands of Guyanese remained overseas on March 2nd and yet somehow voted. I get it.

Oh btw, how come Ramdas died in 2015 and appeared on the 2020 voters list (OLE)? Tonight Mohabir admitted that the deceased Ramdas was on the OLE, but her name wasn’t “ticked’ off?
Mohabir is actually a bright kid ( not sure how Irfraud Ali got ahead of him) but in politics you have to make a mockery of yourself sometimes.
Lol
Yeah, that’s a credible list Einstein.

Norm 2020-05-27 03:18:17

In reply to anansi

Yeah, that’s a credible list Einstein.

Who compiled the list? The same folks counting the votes now? And, didn't all the parties have a chance to check the list?

how come Ramdas died in 2015 and appeared on the 2020 voters list (OLE)?

Mingo did even better, creating over 4000 brand new unborn voters for the APNU. Mingo obviously thought the list was far too small!

Anything to choke-and-rob the whole country in broad daylight, right?

These people have no integrity, people like those who plan never to lose an election, are nothing more than dictators, they had an integrity bypass. Both TT and Guyana have such people, they pass as politicians.Rigging goes on in both countries,TT have done it since Independence and so has Guyana. It is sad that we inherited one of the best legacies from the colonial masters, democracy, but it's been replaced by Caribbean thuggery, blatant cheating and racism.

Yep, true. In Suriname's case, 5 years after independence the army took over and had a dictator until around 1988 when they had a brief reprieve for a few years and they took over again. They had a few years of democracy, but Boutras was always in the background. Now looks like doesn't want to give up as well. I'm monitering the situation there.

Obviously they missed her, as I said show me the overwhelming variance and margin of error which are catered for.
