If it’s uncomfortable then it doesnt fit right, nor give you the seal you think you have/need.
Therefore it is as effective as a cloth mask.
No civilian should use a medical mask unless they are professionally fit tested for the mask...then stick to that brand and model!

It is not too small, that's just how they fit. The elastic over the head is uncomfortable, the metal over the nose is uncomfortable and your breathing is restricted.

On a more serious note...the metal is needed to create an airtight situation around the nose. The metal must be pressed to take the shape of the ridge of the nose. When you put the N95 correctly, if you blow air from your mouth out, you are not supposed to feel any air escaping around the edges of the mask... none at all.

I made absolutely no issue with the spelling of "uncomfortable", fool... None at all. I highlighted the word only to show your pettiness in starting a thread because an N95 mask is uncomfortable.
I started my own thread minutes later to show how ridiculous your thread was. There is absolutely no issue with the misspelt word. Only a donkey would believe that I have an issue with the spelling.
