Commies speculate that Cornwall not in final XI?

West Indies have a few decisions of their own, not least whether to give the mighty unit Rakheem Cornwall an outing as the specialist spinner. But Nagraj Gollapudi has gone over the issues in their otherwise well-settled camp.

Meanwhile, GD has spotted the big fella, Rahkeem Cornwall, providing the throws for a fielding drill. Maybe a sign he's not in the Windies XI? We'll find out soon (hopefully)

Without Cornwall, I guess they will be going for a team that includes: 8 Batsmen; 4 Fast bowlers; and 4 Part-time spinners but let’s wait and see the selectors’ mindset.

That is sadness if Jimbo does not play. But if WI have a better combination to make us play better, go WI.

Ironically, the team selected was exactly the same team I selected with the before mentioned combinations and I got cussed out by some posters.

I never agree when the WI plays so many batsmen, but I wish them good luck, I always believe in trying to limit the amount of runs the opposition can make with four specialist bowlers.

I think the wet field, has a lot to do with the decision of leaving out Cornwall.

Really?
Roger Harper has been talking about the team selection for sometime, he said spinners are needed in Dry conditions.
If you check the number of overs bowled by spinners, in the two practice game, you would see it will be pace, all the way.
I believe Roger was wrong, for not selecting Pamaul and he is wrong for Cornwall not in the X!.
BTW, I know Roger in not in the Bubble, but he is still part of the selection process.

So how many specialist bowlers do you see in the team

There are three, I thought that was obvious.

Nasser Hussain just said that while it's too early for spin now, this Southampton pitch is usually good for spinners later in the match. I think it was a bad idea to leave out a specialist spinner. I can see Chase bowling a lot of overs in the second innings.

Gabriel
Holder
Joseph
Roach

Which one is not a specialist?

Holder is an all rounder not a specialist bowler.

To consistently win test matches you need 5 bowlers..

Sub-continent
2 specialist spinners
3 pacers

Other areas
4 pacers
1 spinner (specialist not part timer)

Blackwood lucky to be playing this match.. he better make use of it
