Cornwall must play

Blackwood absolutely no, he cant bat
Yet Blackwood's barely 30 average is better than many of the so-called big bats in the team who have been persisted over the years. I would take someone who cant bat-yet averages 30-over a 'great batsman" averaging in the 20s

That's a typical allan reaction.
The only thing new is his call for Cornwall and not Ambris. For him that must've been a dilemma.

He can't be worse than rory burns.......that dude looks offensively ugly at the wicket....like a sort of insect

I too would have played The Wall b4 Blacks. However, once selected I wish them all the best, let them fail first before the crucifixion.

Yep Dukes , again you will look foolish..
Blackwood now and before you wanted Permaul selected ( the regional dung heap bullies)
In reply to allan
I said that Permaul deserved to be in the reserve squad ahead of one of the 11 fast bowlers selected in the two squads.
Nobody could convince me that Harding,Thomas,McSween,Mindley and Phillip all deserve selection over the leading wicket taker in the domestic competition. It is as simple as that.
In reply to Dukes
Hehe
The selectors actions isnt enough to tell you that Permaul isnt considered good enough to make the UK trip.
Blackwood better get runs and tighten his defense as Da Silva and others i waiting to eat his food
In reply to allan
Dont you think Permaul should had been in the squad selected?
In reply to openning
Permaul not ready for Test cricket. His record shows this
In reply to allan
With the absence of Bravo and Hety, then Blackwood with his experience was selected from the onset to play, so whats the fuss but to wish the young man well?
The selectors looked at his approach to India, one of the best Test team in the world that without training or prior knowledge that he would be playing in a test match, scored runs for Wi. Plus he still maintains a 31+ test average, still higher than many who were persisted with in the team, so whats the fuss?

Not his homie.
In reply to natty_forever
I have no homie, big corn deserved to play based on performance ...
Blackwood has a good record against the English as well as scoring well heavily in the just finished regional first class season. That famous test match in England when Hope made those two centuries he did play a pivotal role at the end to secure that victory.
In reply to Raggs
You saying horses for courses. I feel Big Wall would give us as much runs and is a wicket taking option.
In reply to allan
Them chicken out, and played the extra batsman. Draw cricket them playing.

I disagree, they knew the batting is not up to par; therefore, they had to go with another batsman. In addition, we have Brathwaite and the same Blackwood who ,BTW, is a better batsman than Cornwall, and they could help Chase with a few overs of off-spin if needed.
Chase
Brathwaite (option)
Blackwood (option)
It seems to me that many on this board do not realize that with so much rain in the air, that a constantly wet ball is not good for a spin bowler and that is why Cornwall was left out and Blackwood included.Hope this helps but I have a feeling it will not.
In reply to Dukes
You can say that and believe it?
This was telegraph weeks ago, The CPS told us, spinners are only needed during the dry season in England.
Check the numbers of overs bowled by spinners in the two practice games.
As I followed the preview to the test, it was either Chase/Blackwood, Chase and Blackwood or Blackwood and Cornwall.
In reply to TheTrail
Kraigg and Blackwood are not worthy spinners..
Anyone who believe that is just plan crazy
In reply to Dukes
Of course its rubbish as usual from you.
England played a specialist Dominic Bess.. but of course you know even more than the locals
