Muhammad Muwakils two clearest childhood memories of his father are of the time he explained the dangers of playing outside; and the time his father tried to overthrow the Government.Muwakil, 36, a musician, is a founding member of the socially-conscious musical project Freetown Collective.
He spent the first six years of his life at the Jamaat al Muslimeens Mucurapo compound.

T&T Cops came to his home spoke to Muhammad last week.
Then requested that he show up at the Police Station to be interviewed,he was on stage with COP Griffith , when something happened.
After the interview, they asked him to sign a document. His lawyer said NO.
HE was allowed to leave.
Retired Parliament worker recalls trauma of attempted coup: Caught in the Chamber
My name is Marlene Andrews and I am a survivor of the attempted coup which occurred on July 27, 1990. That Friday started out as any work day. As a parliamentary attendant at that time, part of my duties involved assisting MPs in the Chamber.
The sitting commenced at 1.30 pm, proceeded as usual and was suspended by the Speaker at 4.30 pm for the tea break. At 5 pm the sitting resumed, with the Honourable Minister Joseph Toney on his legs completing his contribution.

My fathers trauma
DURING the turbulent days of the attempted coup in 1990, many families locked themselves away in their homes, including 18-year-old Colleen Holder, her sister, mother and grandmother.
