*Update* Former AG Basil Williams has filed a motion in the Guyana Lower Courts to prevent the pigtail ban.
Filed on behalf of establishment "Fordie's Cookup", the motion serves to block the new law as it "severely impairs the establishment's rights to lawfully conduct and operate its business".
Hearing on this matter is scheduled for Tuesday 11 am.

Lowenfield, through his lawyer, Neil Boston has asked to join the lawsuit as an interested party.
Lowenfield said this new pig tail ban will severely impinge on his rights as he is accustomed to going to the daily buffet at Congress Place where, he said, unlimited pig tails there are a big hit with himself, his lawyer, Boston, and many other people.
He wants the Judge to pay particular attention to the fact that sometimes, nay many times, he would double back later for a second helping of pig tails. As such he is asking the Judge to strike out the ban in its entirety. He volunteered that maybe the Judge could ask Irfaan to ban dal. Lowenfield said he would be fine with that.
Asked why he couldn't ask Irfaan himself instead of asking the judge to do it for him, Lowenfield said he doesn't quite know why but of late Irfaan has stopped talking to him. Lowenfield said he couldn't put his finger on why.

The new Guyana government did not ban pigtails. They have not even named their ministers or ministries yet. In any case, Guyana has never had issues with religion, not under any government whatsoever.
