ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Cricket West Indies (CWI) is in receipt of the comprehensive and detailed report prepared by the Independent Task Force for Corporate Governance Reform. At the request of CWI, Jamaican Senator Don Wehby headed the Task Force, which also included Sir Hilary Beckles, Mr. Deryck Murray, Mr. O.K Melhado and Mr. Charles Wilkin QC.  The Task Force consulted extensively within CWI, the region and internationally; and the 36-page report drew from a wide cross-section of expertise – from knowledgeable stakeholders in the West Indies as well as in the global game.

Senator Wehby said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of my Task Force for their selfless dedication to the completion of this project, over the past year. Their time, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, has made the finalisation of this report a reality. We would also like to commend CWI President Ricky Skerritt and his Board of Directors for seeing the need for governance reform and giving us the opportunity to make a contribution to the sport we love, and for which we wish the utmost best.”

This is what, the 21st such report?

Time will tell whether this is simply
another one of the WICBC/CWI Ploys to
maintain its over 100 years old Structure .

Unless those in the governance of West
Indies Cricket stop being Lords , and
our Players their Serfs WE aint going
to improve .

The fact is that since its founding
little has changed in the WICBC/CWI
Structure , and its Lords & Serfs mentality .

The People in the WICBC/CWI are imbued with a mentality that is anathema to having cordial discussions with our Players .

For many years now the WICBC/CWI has
commissioned Reports , and did absolutely Nothing . CWI has now recieved the latest of its many Reports , this One called the Wehby
Report .

Time will tell whether the findings of this Report will be taken on board
or it will end up like the other previous Reports .

The WICBC/CWI is over 100 years old ,
and during that time it has commissioned several Reports , and did absolutely NOTHING .

Time will tell whether the Wehby Report will end up like the Others , that have never seen the light of Day.

Time will also tell whether the WICBC/ CWI is willing to undergo serious Structural Changes ; That must also include fostering Harmony between the WICBC/CWI and Our Players.

Unless this is done WE will be running very fast and find ourselves
in the same freaking place . Hell , this is 2020 not 1920 !!!!!
