HEADLINE: Perfect TKR power to title

Lendl Simmons and Darren Bravo ensured Trinbago Knight Riders completed the first perfect season in franchise T20 history with an unbroken partnership of 138 off 88 balls, the highest of Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020 and the highest ever in a final. The St Lucia Zouks put up what seemed a competitive total, but ultimately a loss of 7/39 off the last 32 balls of their innings cost them dearly against this history-making Knight Riders squad.

Rakheem Cornwall swept Akeal Hosein for four but was lucky to edge over DJ Bravo at slip. Knight Riders captain Kieron Pollard gave the second over to Ali Khan, and Ali responded by flattening Cornwall’s middle stump. Andre Fletcher clipped fine for four, the Zouks thus closing the second over at 16/1.

Mark Deyal slog-swept Hosein for two fours, and Fletcher was aggressive against Sikandar Raza, taking him over cover and long-on for Hero Maximums then cutting for four. Khary Pierre went for just five, but Fletcher twice smoked Ali through cover for four and the Zouks motored to 60/1 off the Powerplay.

We broke up Trinidad Red Force owing to the fact the brain trust at WICB (H&H) decided it would be better to have franchise cricket.

CWI cannot hold a T20 tourney owing to this agreement unless it get CPL approval.CPL hasn't lived up to its obligations as per the agreement.

TKR has shown with astute management and selection of local cricketers, its accomplishment since the inception of the CPL.4 Championships.

If it isn't obvious to cricket fans that T&T produces some of the better T20 cricket players in the Caribbean, then you are clueless. We have seen such in this years tourney.

How soon will it be before we hear the calls to break up TKR ?.

With all the advantages coming into the tourney any less from TKR would be shameful.

Unfair advantages at that.

Well done Zouks.

Applause!!!

We should be winning all our home tests then, what advantage are you talking about.TKR would have beaten those same teams anywhere in the world, just absorb that.TKR played without 2 match winners...Narine and Munro,Bravo was unable to bowl and still we steamrollered Zouks.Check before you type.

I agree TKR was the best team out there. But even if they weren't, the umpires would have made sure they were the winners. I have never seen a group of people bend over so far backwards to make sure we get a certain result. And, the irony is that TKR didn't even need their help. So, my conclusion is that these umpires were thinking that they are in Trinidad and showing bias toward TKR would put them in good standing with the Trinidadian babes. Or, they were just following a plan that they could not deviate from, even though implementing the plan was no longer necessary. Or, these guys are just simply incompetent. I'm sure even the TKR were embarrassed at some of the decisions these umpires made in their favour. In any event, these "umpires" are unwittingly killing the CPL.
