Unfortunately,N.Pooran can't make the actual team since he doesn't have any experience in 4-days game....once he refused to play for another franchise even after being selected ...has all the talent but .... players who played the 4-days games can't surely be overlooked... would send wrong message to other youngsters...

Wasn't dat 4 years ago? Are you saying dat he eh serve his penance yet?

SO tell me something, if CWI had interest in him playing tests, why not request dat he played in de last PCL instead of taking him to Afghanistan and India and afford him de same benefits dat he wudda get on tour.

Same goes for King. Our player development programme leaves much to be desired

In such a case ... Shane Dowrich takes the

spot ... but bats after Jason Holder.

I am looking at the form and fitness levels

exhibited by other players in the recent

T-20 tournament.

Yadi 2020-09-15 20:49:01

In reply to Maispwi

Bravo, Blackwood, Bonner, DeSilva

& Chase all demonstrated good form & fitness.

Yadi 2020-09-15 20:51:34

In reply to Onionman0

Hetmyer did demonstrate good batting form

In a few matches; However reports are that

he did not appear to be in peek physical

condition.

anthonyp 2020-09-15 21:01:56

Why would someone pick Pooran and bat him at 7?

Chase is not a top order batsman.. check his stats for the past 3-4yrs.. his batting average is around 26.

Hety, Pooran, Bravo and DaSilva must be in the next text XI.

My XI

1. DaSilva
2. Brooks
3. Hety
4. Bravo
5. Pooran
6. Blackwood
7. Holder
8. Chase
9. Roach
10. Gabriel
11. Holder

clokey 2020-09-16 01:24:21

What I would do and what the selectors are going to do is two different things.

We'd all like to see Pooran, but let's keep it in the realm of reality lol

KB
Brooks
Heffmyer
Bravo
Blackwood
Holder
Chase
Dowrich
Joseph
Roach
Gabriel

If we lose the 1st test and have the typical failures, I'd make sure Da Silva & Chemar Holder get a cap in the second test.

I wish they'd hurry up and announce this tour. Very interesting to see who makes themselves available after the IPL.

natty_forever 2020-09-16 02:41:07

Selectors thinking.
Same squad with one exception.

Once Holder is captain, Dowrich and Hope inside for NZ.

No question of penance...as a professional it should be his endeavour to upgrade his skill level vis-a-vis all formats of cricket....last heard CWI officials had a talk with him....he expressed his willingness.....he is one of our better batsman...could be our Gilchrist.... provided he acts as a professional should.

Yes Dowrich and Silva should serve as keeper /batsman..... absolutely Holder should bat ahead of Dowrich....

Does the above make sense to you, if Chase is not a top order batsman, is Darren Bravo a top order batsman if you do the same analysis , I am sure that Bravo last year avg maybe just bordering low double digits. Hety is not far behind either.
.

anthonyp 2020-09-16 18:37:27

In reply to tc1

Why you comparing Bravo stats for one bad year vs 3 years for Chase?

Look Chase getting to play every test series and batting in the top 5 for the past 3 year or more.. in that 3 years he played 22 test matches.. batted 40 times and yet his average is 26.

In the past three years Hety played 13 test and Bravo 5.. give them a shot in the top 5 now, Chase had his.

TheTrail 2020-09-16 20:30:36

This squad is not in any order.
I believe the selectors will pick this squad.

1) Kraigg Braithwaite
2) R Cornwall
3) Darren Bravo
4) Alzarri Joseph
5) Royston Chase
6) Jermaine Blackwood
7) Jason Holder
8 ) Shane Dowrich
9) Kemar Roach
10) Shemar Brooks
11) Shannon Gabriel.
12) Chemar Holder
13)Joshua DeSilva
14) Hetmeyer
15) J Campbell

Bravo last 26 innings he is avg. 25. Chase batted 40 times with an avg. of 26, yet you said Chase is not a top batsman , but Bravo is. Accordingly , base on these samples both are not top 5 batsmen.

Hety in the last 20 innings, is avg. 31, is he a top 5 batsmen?

anthonyp 2020-09-16 22:32:48

So ah man batted 14 more times and got almost identical batting stats and we should continue with him in the top order?

Yuh know Bravo was dropped and went back to regional cricket and dominated and earned back his spot right? Why is it bajans can't do the same? Hope, Kraigg and Chase failing with the bat for year yet their spots secure in the test XI because the skipper is friends with them..

And I won't even engage yuh in the Hety crap.. if you don't think he is a top 5 batsman then yuh gotta be delusional lol

BeatDball 2020-09-16 23:00:21

Where is John Campbell? I rather see him than Kraigg B!
confused

Both players have identical stats, how can one be better than than the other, the solution was to find another player with better stats. lil Bravo batted in the top 5 98% of his WI career.

Hety avg. is about 31 for his last 25 innings, great stats. lol lol

Jason is captain, and also Chief selector, the muddie guy is just a mannequin. lol lol

Onionman0 2020-09-17 01:41:14

Hope/Da Silva/Mosley
Braithwaite
Bravo
Brooks
Hety
Chase
Blackwood
Holder
Reifer
Cornwall
Dowrich
Roach
C.Holder
Gabriel
Joseph
If Hope/Silva/Mosley not selected in 15 man squad... surely be in extended squad of 25......Campbell in extended squad...I presume that Hope would be in 15 man squad as he is favourite of head coach as well as team management..

Skunt man fuh a bajan yuh really dotish..

Bravo was dropped for his poor form.. went back to regional cricket and performed and earned his spot back.. which part of that yuh don't understand? Averaged over 40+ with the bat in the couple PCL matches he played, over 60 in the super50 and just recently over 50 in the CPL. Chase, Hope & Kraigg ever get drop?

Hety now starting his career.. how many of his 13 test did he play consecutively? Although they play him in one one match he still averaging more than the bajans who playing ever single match and shyting up de place lol

tc1 2020-09-17 13:33:44

In reply to anthonyp

Performance is a bench mark, as you pointed out Bravo got dropped for poor performance, went back to the regional, came back and has performed poorly, his last 10 innings he is avg. 13.
Hope and Kraigg got dropped at least twice.

The only bajan Hety is avg. more is Hope, KB and Chase avg. in the 30s, the great Hety is avg. .50 more than hopeless Hope.

present a better argument , Bravo and Hety performance is no better than the bajans. stick to providing update on young players as your game as a player is no better than Sherfane.

lol lol

That right there is proof that yuh in a whole world by yourself.. Bravo is yet to play a match for WI after that drop.. his last match was in 2019 lol

Hope & Kraigg was dropped from the squad?

Hope average for the past 3yrs or more.. after the twin tons in England is no more than 23.. heck in the last two years it dipped below 20.. how is that .50 less than ah player who averaging just over 30? Numbers is nuh yuh strong suite? lol

At least yuh coming around slowly.. good to see yuh admitting that Hety averaged more than three out of the top five batters.. Suh just one simple question for you.. Why de rass they still playing ahead of him? lol

what are you talking about ofall those batsmen hope is only one that should be dropped, chase has done better than bravo and hetmyer and although i don't like how brathwaithe bats he still has done better than and opening batsmen you got
