A great woman is dead
So sad
Now Trump will get another conservative
In reply to Chrissy Sad indeed ---perilous times for the US legal system I just hope they dont try to push thru someone before the election --- but then again the lord works in mysterious ways Roberts may just take her place.
Well RIP Miss. Ginsburg, but I think that Trump may have just got a good distraction from the rest of his issues.

Sad
There might not be time for a senate vote this year but even if the Dems win the presidency and senate, McConnell can still prevail in the lame duck session before new senate is sworn in
RIP McConnell promised a floor vote in the Senate before the elections

Let's see? As sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, Mitch and Trump will have a conservative in before the end of the year, worse still if Biden wins and the Dems were to win the Senate, you can bet Mitch will force a new justice in the new year before Biden's inauguration.
I have told this MB too many times before how the Supreme/Federal Appeal Courts are part of the GOP/Right Wing effort to stymie any Democratic Party that is overly influenced by a growing majority-minority demographics.
Mitch McConnell will not let this moment pass to plug that hole with another young Conservative jurist.
Here is the problem:
46% of whites worry becoming a majority-minority nation will 'weaken American culture,' survey says.
The dead of the great RBG is as much an "October Surprise" in September.
This presidential campaign has now shifted from talk about a pandemic to all about the Supreme Court..
I should add this. If McConnel goes through and give Trump another Supreme Court pick, should Biden win, and is lucky enough to get a Senate majority, one of his first steps should be to change the Supreme Court from 9 jurists to 11, to return some kind of balance to the court.
Well this is what happens when things are left up to chance, people were hinting to Ginsburg to retire years ago when Obama was in office, but she was not a team player on that issue.
In reply to dayne
she hedged her bets on Hilary becoming president....it didn't work out....

Indeed.
Now FOX is already discussing that Mitch must move fast to get someone. Mitch's past rejection of Obama nominee the FEBRUARY before the Nov. 2016 election is if no consequence says FOX, because back then, the senate majority and the WH were from different parties.
Imagine the leader of the senate is allowed to get away by this type of thinking.
Are we really the leader of the free-world?

And I think this is why Trump, the White Nationalist movement and the radical evangelical christian groups have supported Trump and will continue to do so
Well, to be honest, there isn't a dominant majority race/culture in the world who wouldn't fret about perceived dilution of their culture.
If there is, I am unaware of it.
Everything is falling into place.
