No one can now blame Venezuela if they were to classify Guyana as a state sponsor of terrorism- using the very same standard the US uses to classify countries that has taken hostile act against national security.
More- this Guyana move is in direct contradiction to CARICOM and the region's long standing neutrality.
So in essence, Guyana has embraced a radical right wing Trump administration involvement in its internal affiars.
See why I warn again this group seizing power.
Guess yall in favor of Venezuela getting 2/3 of Guyana!
SO, who really is the sellout?
In reply to ray
has Venezuela made recent claims?
In reply to camos
In fact under this Bolivarian era which started with the great Chavez, the "dispute" was tossed aside as Chavez and now Maduro is more interested in international brotherhood of colonized peoples.
The claim by Venezuela for some of then BG territory was designed by the elite- ultra rich SPANIARD VENEUELANS, THE STRAIGHT LINE DECENDANTS OF SPANISH SLAVE MASTERS.
The mestizos- the real Venezuelans and other native and mixed Venezuelans- to which Maduro and Chavez belong, has never sought territory or war with the Guyanese people.
DOn't trust them...US will keep them in check
In reply to Chrissy
What was your opinion when CIA and the US chose moderate Burnham over communist Jagan?
We did not have to live very long to see Burnham and the PNC sell out - to England and the US! Well documented too.
Now, where is the documentation that the PPP "sell out"? Or is that merely selective speculation?
In reply to camos
Venezuela has territorial claims against ALL its neighbors, except maybe T&T. Venezuela even has territorial claims against Grenada.
ALL those claims are based on Venezuela inheriting Spanish claims, even against former Spanish colonies such as Colombia. On the one hand, Bolivarian philosophy denies the right of Spain to rule its New World colonies, but respects Spain's territorial claims!
Venezuelan citizens are taught, probably right up to this day, that most of Guyana is really Venezuela's. Their geography textbooks have maps showing most of Guyana as being Venezuela's - sometimes without even referencing a dispute.
The dispute is always framed in victims' terms - "poor Venezuela was bullied and robbed in the past by Europeans, with Spain and England at the top of the list o bullies". Most Venezuelans believe today that Guyana was stolen from them.
In recent months, Venezuelans shoot across the border at Guyanese almost everyday, and injured several. They shoot at Guyanese civilians, policemen and soldiers. Just days ago, a Guyanese policeman was injured by Venezuelan gunfire from across the border. Diplomatic complaints have done nothing whatsoever to stop the shooting.
While Hugo Chavez was paying an official visit to Guyana, ARMED Venezuelans invaded Guyana's territory and stayed there for hours, while Chavez was declaring "brotherly love" for Guyanese.
So, you people can allow yourselves to be fooled by propaganda and fools on the message board if you want, or choose to. The truth is that Guyana suffers daily from Venezuela's relentless bullying and greedy aspirations.
Some of you dreamers won't care about that, of course.
In reply to Norm
They are anti AMericans, so it follows that they will support Venezuela...plus, they don't care for the PPP
If this was PNC, their mouths will be up their asses
In reply to ray
Every known PNC supporter here was as quiet as a church mouse as the PNC robbed all Guyanese of their democracy for 5 months.
It took one call from Pompeo to send the cowards running with their tail between their legs, "I GIVE YOU ONE DAY TO GET YOUR SKUNT OUT OF OFFICE AND LET THE RIGHTFUL WINNERS TAKE THEIR PLACE, OR I WILL FREEZE YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS ...!!!!"
In reply to ray
You know my position well - I supported Cheddi.
In reply to Norm
Stewwwwwwwwwwwwps. Where were you when I said that you should not expect democracy from the army after the last election - not this one.
Allyuh is one set of hypocrites.
President Ali better be careful he doesn't end up like former Panama President, Manuel Noriega.
He better toe the line.
In reply to Chrissy
Allyuh is one set of hypocrites.
Did you mention PNC/APNU by name?
Was there any cry of sell out when the PNC pocketed and hid their 18M signing bonus, cementing their lopsided deal
You pretended you didnt see the massive rigging taking place in front of the world
I think you should be the last to call anyone hypocrite
I expect the other dead people to resurrect from their crypts now that the PPP are in power
In reply to Chrissy
Plenty of opportunities coming up for you to call out those "selling out" by name.
According to some in the PNC, Granger "sell out" the PNC when he bolted with his tail between his legs after Pompeo called him. Was that the "sell out" you were talking about?
In reply to Drapsey
Bro, don't meddle with big people talk. You will get hurt.
In reply to Emir
