Looks as if Di Yard had big reputations, good and bad for over centuries ago.

By the way have you ever read about the legend of Talon?

I told people i read a book about a Jamaican gangster named Talon when i was a young youth but they keep telling me they have never heard of it.

No, not familiar with a Jamaican Talon. Must've been a small-time crook after I left.

I do have some Port Royal stories, however.

Too often, English writers try to separate pirates and buccaneers from the story of sugar and slavery.

The two stories are interwoven.

The most successful buccaneer in Port Royal was Henry Morgan, who also owned several plantations, including Guanaboa Vale, and lots of slaves. Morgan led an expedition against the Spanish Maroon community of Juan de Serras.

However, Morgan failed in his attempts to capture de Serras or in his attempts to destroy his community of runaway slaves.
