American Courts are going totally political

Casper 2020-10-18 10:20:09

A country divided cannot stand - so go the country, so go the Courts.

Republicans will get their Amy Coney Barrett who will tilt the Supreme Court further right, further conservative, further Big Business, further White Supremacy..

At the lower Appeals and Federal levels, Mitch McConnell has ensured a similar development, first when he blocked or held up Obama’s nominations to the Courts, with the view of getting a Republican president.

McConnell struck gold with Trump and pushed through 50 judges at the above two levels. Each one was very young, as young as 28 yrs.old and each one was White - no Blacks, no minorities. That is court-packing at its political best. Yet the Republicans, the Right-wing and some squeamish Democrats ( primarily White) are voicing concerns about such a potential Supreme Court packing by a Biden administration. The Democratic base should not hold their breath about that happening.

Court-parking, the Republican way is sorely for the purpose of maintaining the white power structure as changing demographics point to a majority-minority America.

Federal Appeals Courts Emerge as Crucial for Trump in Voting Cases.

This month, a federal judge struck down a decree from Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas limiting each county in the state to a single drop box to handle the surge in absentee ballots this election season, rejecting Mr. Abbott’s argument that the limit was necessary to combat fraud.

Days later, an appellate panel of three judges appointed by President Trump froze the lower court order, keeping Mr. Abbott’s new policy in place — meaning Harris County, with more than two million voters, and Wheeler County, with well under 4,000, would both be allowed only one drop box for voters who want to hand-deliver their absentee ballots and avoid reliance on the Postal Service.

The Texas case is one of at least eight major election disputes around the country in which Federal District Court judges sided with civil rights groups and Democrats in voting cases only to be stayed by the federal appeals courts, whose ranks Mr. Trump has done more to populate than any president in more than 40 years.

The rulings highlight how Mr. Trump’s drive to fill empty judgeships is yielding benefits to his re-election campaign even before any major dispute about the outcome may make it to the Supreme Court. He made clear the political advantages he derives from his power to appoint judges when he explained last month that he was moving fast to name a successor to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg so the Supreme Court would have a full contingent to handle any election challenges, which he has indicated he might bring in the event of a loss.

When has the Court not been political?

When has a Country not reflected the makeup of it's Citizens?

In fact, but for the last few decades, when has the Courts not been conservative? .... even Democratic appointed judges were conservative compared to today.

There are literally still campaigns to elect judges...still.

Are you new to this? Or you just upset that your side is the loser?

Because you would not have said these things had OBama had the chance to appoint three judges.

I could not care less, but your crying is simply sour grapes.

Such is life in this Country. From day one.

I hope to you will like your life in the future.

Note: That's not a promise.

Because the people you are pushing are going to make my life better? How?

No matter which is in there it's the same problems facing people.....in fact, the problems are only exacerbated by the constant bickering of people like you on both sides that make the already flawed system unable to do anything worthwhile.

So the problem has always only about "constant bickering"

Hahahaha. Oh Dear! Dream on.

Am not surprised you fixated on that point and missed the Elephant.

There was a time when Politics was played on the campaign trail, but the will of the people were discussed and voted on with a certain non-partisanship.

Today it is a fight each day with each consideration and people like you lap it up while being the one left with the short stick.

Get a clue.

All people in the US will never believe in the same thing....in fact people in a family don't even believe the same thing....what keeps them at peace is the ability to communicate and reach a compromise.

Holy Crap! Dream on.

However, here is American Politics 101. Do me a favor and read it. Not just you, but all others who may look in on this thread.

Of course, I know you Ayenmol, you will tell us that you knew every bit of this before, but read it anyway and you might still learn something.

Now, you can get to know why America is where it is at. I hope you can decipher the major reason for such a development, and why there is a Cult around Donald Trump.

Nasty homos? The US constitution controls the sexual behavior of people living in the US?

So, people in America should be reading the US Constitution before having sex now? Darn!
