Joe Biden's picks for the top roles in his administration have been celebrated by centrist Democrats: they speak glowingly of the diversity and experience of the individuals, a group that includes veteran foreign policy experts, and accomplished women and people of colour.
Yet progressives feel cheated. They say they helped Mr Biden win, and now they have been shut out of power.
These progressives say the cabinet will be filled with "Clinton and Obama retreads", as one of them puts it, describing it as a return to the "Blob", a term that Ben Rhodes, who served as Mr Obama's speechwriter, once used to describe the Washington establishment.

Biden Ignores Socialists!
next four years will be a different type of bumpy ride for America
In reply to nitro
Baloney, Balogna!!
Progressives will have their rightful share of places and influence in a Biden/Harris administration.
There are those on the outside (mainly Right) who want to stir up pig and horse manure with all sorts of bird droppings to create a chasm in the Democratic party, but that ain't going to happen. Dems have more important things to do in "Building Back Better" the wreckage from 4 years of Trump stinking up the place.
You want to know which party has a problem, then look no further than the Repugnants, a party of angry, lying, White Supremacy "Dysfunctional Dinosaurs", caught up in a cobweb of racist and fascist miscreants - a stinking "basket of Deplorables", fermenting in their barrel of Trump Kool-Aid.
Go figure.
What a mess!!
Do you want more? I have more for yuh. Wheel and come again.
In reply to nitro
WTF is it to you, #121....?
Go hug up yuh bwooy Donnie and hop offa Biden fender.
In reply to nitro
We doh need your dutty input when it comes to Biden.
You had your chance for the last four years.
Clinton and Obama retreads are light years ahead in experience of the neophytes that was a result of nepotism by your DON.
Sit Down!, Shut Up!, WE Won!, You Lost!.

The Dems need to win those 2 senate seats in Georgia.
The last thing Biden wants is to spook voters in a traditional red state with "far left" or "progressive" picks in his cabinet.
If the Dems pull off a miracle and get those 2 seats Biden will probably reshuffle his cabinet at some point next year.

We dont know his cabinet yet

For all of that talk, this election was a poor showing for the Democrats. They suffered a loss in the House and will likely not be in control of the Senate. Yes they won the White House which is a big one, but Trump got ~74M votes - 74M!
The Dems should be looking closely to determine why they performed so poorly and how to fix it. Just remember that about a quarter million people have died and you have an historically idiotic president - or so we say he is an idiot, but maybe not.
Don't tell me there are too many idiots like Nitro - you have to work with what you have and they each have 1 vote.
In reply to HumbleCalf
Most of that argument is Republican pushed narrative, the GOP was defending 21 Senate seats that were up for reelection ,lost two and gained one ,contrast that with house Democrats having a net loss of 4 seats from 230.
In reply to camos
The general expectation (including mine) was that the Democrats would do a lot better than they did in both the House and Senate races and I think most people expected Trump to do a lot worse than he did.
If that was your starting point, I think you will agree the results are poor.
In reply to HumbleCalf while the results are not as good as Democrats hoped for, much of our hopes were not rooted in reality.House seats are tougher/easier than senate, because the majority party can create artificial districts. I thought Susan Collins would have lost in Maine, South Carolina was a mirage but who expected the Dem to be that competitive in Georgia?
In reply to HumbleCalf
Part of the reason is this:
There was a man who went out on the hustings every week of his 4-year presidency telling lies and spitting propaganda, and adding that Black people come from shithole countries.
And the Dems have partly fixed it by arranging to kick him out of office.

That AOC socialist woman is a total idiot and a serious danger to herself and everyone else. That Warren woman is a nutcase too. Bernie has good ideas, however.
Biden should display some balls and honor Bernie publicly. Give him a role in government to see what he has to offer. Ultimately, the US will have to consider "socialist" concepts, such as wealth distribution, to address the rising social unrest among the people in general.
Biden's weak government will quickly lead to more BLM activity, and more counter-BLM from the other side. Soon the US will face exactly the issues that a man like Bernie would have constructive ideas about.
The racist approach has been essentially rejected by Americans, but all the underlying causes of racism, BLM, etc are still there. Ignoring the likes of Bernie is the equivalent of ignoring those issues.
Just as Trump unwittingly put racism on trial in the USA, Biden will do the same for the bread-and-butter economic issues. By the time we are done with Biden, a whole lot more people in America will be giving thought to the issues that Bernie holds dear.
So, hang in there and watch the ride. Never a dull moment in the USA!
In reply to Norm
So Bernie is okay, but the two women, AOC and Warren, are either idiots or nutcases, yet they are all "Socialists".
Hmmm!
In reply to Casper
The point?
In reply to Norm
what govt? name the govt? how is it weak?
In reply to sudden
Anyone who lives in the real world would know no "Biden government" has been constructed let alone going through Senate scrutiny.
Typical example of one who has adopted a paper tiger and slain it. In essence, he is "Lucky and the giants."
In reply to Courtesy
hence my questions? think they will be answered?
In reply to sudden
I am afraid you've vanquished him. He will await another appropriate moment to make his entrance to spew some more, to borrow a word from you, "shoite."
In reply to Courtesy
Norm is a voice of reason on CCC. so i will await his answers. i am sure they will be well thought out and will justify what he posited
In reply to sudden
That not a description above that I would give to describe a normal male pawpaw tree. But I understand your optimism.
I wish he would not reappear to spare me the "shoite."
In reply to sudden
How can he justify that crap? Norm has just outdone himself.
In reply to sudden
Biden won because America hates Trump, not because he offered anything to the people. All he had to do was get nominated by the Dems. Trump's Sleepy Joe moniker will come true soon enough.
I guess the empty-headed blow-blows on this thread haven't yet found anything to read about Biden. So, everything is "shoite" until CNN tells them what to think.
Trump is almost gone, but the brainless mob is still out there, waiting for another Pied Piper to start playing.
As anticipated... pure shoite. No mention of:
Where, how, when did Biden form a government? How was the appraisal of Biden's government done? Is that even a possibility at this point in time?
Please don't bother posting shoite to the above.
Socialists lost BIGLY in this election. They did not help Biden to win, he did not need their help.

Show us the data
In reply to Norm
Thanks for the reply but none of it made contact with your previous post or the questions i asked in response
In reply to Norm
I think you need another piece of turkey.
In reply to sudden
Do you need to pick a current WI team to know it will be a weak team?
Anyway, man, I am not into regurgitating Fox and CNN. I leave that to the blow-blows.
Just like many of us think that copying the Brits, right down to putting statues of British heroes in the middle of town, was smart, so too today we are with US politics.
So, all you wait for CNN to kickstart the thinking process, please.
As the fat lawyer says, "How and where was the appraisal done?" If you ever needed proof of mental laziness being proud of mental laziness, there it is!
In reply to nitro
The boogeyman "socialism" is the only thing that will ever help Americans to achieve the American dream, as they struggle with an economic caste system that consigns most of the population to economic doom, that they must accept.
For most people in America, the only hope of escape from the economic caste system is to win the lotto or become a star.
People will get tired of it. That's what BLM is. Then they themselves will turn to socialism, and ignore those who benefit from the caste system by telling them that socialism is bad.
It will come, just like that.
In reply to Norm
with incredulity i read your response twice. i think it best that we move on
In reply to sudden
You asked. You had plenty of the more palatable fare to choose from, but you know why you asked.
In reply to Norm
of course there is a reason i asked and i got the answer i expected. or rather i got the nonsense i expected.
Deleted.
In reply to Norm
all that for simply asking you to explain something you posited. dont assert if you cant prove.
i dont have any issue with your assessment of me whatsoever
In reply to sudden
Did you anticipate anything other than bs-isms?
In reply to Courtesy
i was expecting a non-response and he did not disappoint
In reply to sudden
Sorry, man. I should not have criticized you the way I did.
Plenty of people spreading misery here already.
