This team was not ready. Series is over an we have not yet warmed up. Inexperienced Players cant really arrive one day and ready to compete the next day, not at this level. Lambs to the slaughter, but I guess we can blame it on covid.
My concern for the test matches is "where are the famous NZ green tops?", are they saving them for the test?

It must be hard on Pollard leading this team, after coming off a year in the CPL and the IPL.
King out was a joke, ball on his off stump, and his front foot was towards the middle of the wicket, then Hetmyer hit the ball to a fielder and run, running out his partner.
Then the dominoe effect happened.
This team is a poorly selected one, and I put the blame on Roger Harper.
I was listening to him the last 8 months, after the non selection of Permaul, his selections make absolutely no sense.

Ok, which world beaters you want in this team who are not in this team.

If you want to have a civil discussion on cricket let me know, I am not willing to put up with you disrespecting our players.

Right now I would blame covid. Thomas Psul and Cottrell are decent T20 players. They just off their game.
There is no decent T20 player in the side Pierre might be the best available.
In reply to Baje
How would you compare them to others, at the International level.
In reply to openning
Cottrell has been among the best in the world with the new ball constantly picking up wickets. Boulton Archrr Rabada Bumrah maybe at another level but we just need to keep scores under 180. So we don't need them to be great, just decent.

Historical dater is good when someone retire, but there was a reason why Cottrell was left out of a number of games in the IPL, after being his team opening bowler for a few games.
Batsman has gotten to him, it is lack of pace.
The same goes to Paul.
Part-timers like Pollard is smart enough to bowl 1-2 overs.

You mentioned lack of pace with Cotterell but Thomas' pace was significantly down as well, and he looked fitter than he did in the CPL so the issue couldnt have been his fitness. Last time we saw him in Sri Lanka he was hurrying the batsman, but here in the second match Phillips was charging down the pitch hitting him out the ground. The kid has literally gone backward.

7 of the players were at the IPL where dey were supposed to be doing some sort of training, so ah find it hard to believe dat dey were not physically fit.
Ah cyah understand how players in dere early 20s can tek so long to get fit if dey are putting any effort into it unless dey have metabolism issues

Those are my sentiments exactly.
Norm would have everyone play calypso, sip on some alcohol and sit back and watch that garbage without being frustrated.
It is inconceivable that international players can be so woefully unprepared, Covid or no Covid. What was their excuse before Covid?
All three facets of the team, batting, bowling and fielding are way below par.
Contrast that with the New Zealand team performance.
The mentality and application of these West Indian players are weak, period.

Why all of our hopefuls fade so fast? Compared to other nations we are are blessed with some gifted under 19s but by 25 they fade. Should we do the Pakistan approach and start them young in the test arena? We have a growing list of at risk talent: Hope ( both brothers), Braithwaite, Hetmyer, Paul, Joseph, Dorwich, Pooran ( slowly but surely not in it anymore), Bishoo and overall all new Bajan talent.
Wonder if the Administration in charge are looking at things this way or have a plan to replicate what our competitor are doing? Mainly England as in the case of Archer or Australia and India. Can you imaging India is ahead of us in the fast bowling reserves and we can't get 2 decent bowlers on at the same time in the same match?

India is now home of fast bowling skunt. Come out of your cave.

This is some kind of Socafighter sh!t?

In my cave it seems different. We don't have to swear when making an intelligent point. looks like the world outside the cave is more barbaric than that of my cave. Just FYI I was not debating who is producing the most fast bowlers.

What I saw was Cottrell coming back later and being hit. I would bowl him and Thomas out if I pick them.
They usually have 3 to 5 wickets in their opening slot.
