Nice to see SL put the first test behind them and battle here.

Evergreen Ando 6-40 of which 5 are quality wickets. Excellent.

SL 381

ENG 98/2

Early wickets tomorrow would make for an intriguing match.

This Test should serve as an example to the WI Selectors that fast bowlers can do well on spin friendly pitches, Anderson 6 wickets, the others went to fast bowlers also.

Root gets his century while wickets tumble around him.

On wickets like those we need fast bowlers who use their head, maybe Roach is the only one the rest are not consistent.

Well, we were not expected to win the series, as the Bangladesh team is made up of their regular Test players, but at least the Selectors should have used the tour to educate and improve the WI reserves, therefore young Holder should have been playing to work out what he has to do on those type of pitches, also the WI should have taken more young players to expose them to international conditions. It is proving that it was a waste of time to have selected McCarthy and Mohammed, two guy after this tour will likely never play for the WI again.

Ramesh Mendis to Root, out Bowled!! That's a huge wicket! This off break was spinning down the leg side and Root has dragged it onto his stumps as he attempts the sweep shot. Off the gloves and right onto timber. Just the wicket Sri Lanka were looking for. Still 80 runs required - that's a lot of runs on such a wicket. Root b Ramesh Mendis 11(16) [4s-1]

89/4 (25.3)

Day 4: 3rd Session - England need 74 runs
